Internship: School: Supervising Teacher: Assignment: September December 2012 Peacock Collegiate High School, Moose Jaw, SK Melissa Gardner ELA B10 entire semester. Also taught ELA B30, History 10, and Connections 20 (a locally developed, interdisciplinary course offered only at Peacock) - Created and taught units focused on the outcomes and indicators laid out in the Saskatchewan curriculum - Planned and executed both formative and summative evaluations - Adapted lesson plans for various student learning styles/needs - Worked closely with SSTs and guidance counsellors to meet the needs of at-risks students (particularly in Connections 20) - Participated in parent/teacher interviews with supervising teachers - Assistant Coach - Cross Country - Worked football canteen for local games

2012 Spring English Teacher (English as a foreign language) Strong Tower School, Chiclayo, Peru - Lived and taught English at an elementary school in Chiclayo, Peru for 2 months this spring (pre-kindergarten to grade four) - Responsible for planning and teaching lessons from a Canadian based curriculum to 110 students each day - Lived and worked in the Childrens Orphanage that was associated with the school 2007-2011 Soccer Coach Moose Jaw Soccer Association - Coached U6, U8, U10 both boys and girls - Responsible for planning practices and activities, and supervising weekly in the months of May-June 2010 Volunteer Hawane Orphan Care Farm, Swaziland, Africa - Family-based environment for AIDS orphans - Lived on the farm and taught in the home school on site - Responsible for teaching two boys daily (ages 6 & 8) from the Swazi
