THE EFFECTS OF PARENTS ILLITERACY TO THE READING COMPREHENSION OF THEIR OFFSPRING IN MAC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AS PERCEIVED BY TEACHERS S.Y.

Statement of the Problem: A study aimed to gather and enumerate the results of absence or lack of education among parents to the ability of their childs level of understanding as they read a sentence, paragraph, stories and other forms of written pieces. Specifically, it will answer the following questions such as: 1. What reading comprehension abilities of children are affected by parents illiteracy based on the following factors? a. Parental Reading Enjoyment b. Home Literacy Environment c. School Readiness d. Children Reading Enjoyment e. Children Reading Self-Concept 2. Is there a significant variability between: a. Gender of Parents? b. Age of Parents? c. Level of Education Attained (if any)? 3. What strategies and methods should be implemented by Mac Elementary School Teachers to intervene these effects?
