2007
Engaged me to lead services, deliver sermons, and conduct Torah studies. Taught adult education courses in modern Jewish literature, led classes for the teachers of religious school, and classes for parents and children together. Nurtured leadership to build Fairmount Young Professionals, the project for 20s-30s that has grown tremendously in the past year. Led programs with CLEFTY, the high school youth group. Staffed retreats with the religious school and led services for the 3rd through 6th grade. Led services for toddlers and their families. Led and taught at the Chevrei Tikvah community services, a GLBTQ community housed witihin Fairmount Temple.
Cultivated and crafted a meaningful High Holy Day worship experiences for this diverse congregation: Led services, taught and spoke on issues of Jewish identity, preparing our souls for renewal and holiness in death. Sermons are on the Shaaray Tefila website.
Created and directed Camp Tikvah, a summer camp for 7th and 8th graders at Temple Solel centered around social action. Created a safe environment, both physically and emotionally, facilitated deep connections among the campers and staff, taught on Jewish subjects, and led song sessions. Led social action activities including urban gardening, trail restoration, service to the elderly and feeding the hungry. Also supervised overnight camping outing and a trip to Disneyland.
Taught classes to synagogue board and greater community. Led creative Shabbat services with Cantor Lisa Segal. Co-led monthly Locally Grown Shabbat, targeting young adults in their 20s-30s. The Shabbat events drew approximately fifty young adults, guest teachers and service leaders from all over the Brooklyn Jewish scene. Locally Grown Shabbat is now the recipient of seed funding from the UJA-Federation of New York.
Temple Sinai serves well over 1000 families in the Atlanta area. As Rabinic Intern, I conducted adult education courses on Isaac Bashevis Singer, Bernard Malamud and other Jewish writers, provided pastoral counseling to congregants, prepared Bnei Mitzvah students to lead services and teach Torah. With other clergy, I helped officiate at funerals and conversions, led weekly Shabbat services for the congregation as well as children's services for toddlers and young families.
2010-2011
Served in the only rabbinical position at DOROT USA, a dynamic center that cares for over 7,000 seniors on the Upper West and Upper East Sides of Manhattan. Provided pastoral counseling for seniors on loss, decline and death. Wrote memorial service for the community that is used every year. Taught adult education classes to staff and seniors.

2009-2010
Designed special school wide programs for Jewish holidays and social action including a Holocaust rememberance day and a Tzedakah fair. Led the school's prayer services and taught lessons about the history, values and function of Jewish prayer. Rewrote the school curriculum for the sixth grade. Taught on a variety of subjects about Judaism including ethics, history and Hebrew.

Recruited students for Jewish Studies classes and helped arrange guest lecturers for Jewish Studies sponsored events. Coordinated the activities of the Jewish Studies department with other Jewish student groups, such as Hillel, Chabad, and the Santa Cruz Israel Action Committee. Taught class sections on Modern Jewish Fiction; graded papers and exams. Provided guidance to other students about their academic careers.
Fostered and maintained strong relationships among staff members, planned activities, and created a safe space both physically and emotionally for children to grow. Supervised the staff for K-2nd and 3rd-6th grade groups. Strove to be a positive Jewish role model for campers and younger staff.
Musical Experience Jazz Guitar Instructor and Music Teacher Woods Charter School Chapel Hill, North Carolina 2008-2009
Taught students, in classes and privately, guitar playing techniques and music theory. Created learning exercises that challenged students' abilities and encouraged them to improve. Worked with students to determine their learning styles and connected them with their musical voices.
Provided artistic vision, booked and played venues with this professional Jazz group in the Los Angeles area. Other responsibilities included website promotion and audio recordings. Cultivated valuable skills in business, group building and creative leadership.
Professional Development Rabbinical Students' Delegate American Jewish World Service Ciudad Romero, El Salvador Summer 2012
Worked with Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Non-Denominational Rabbis and Jewish Leaders on gardening and construction projects for the community of Ciudad Romero. Listened to the voice of pain rendered by international poverty and brought the stories of the people I met to the United States through speaking and teaching.
Chaplain Intern/Clinical Pastoral Education Lutheran Medical Center Brooklyn, New York
Summer 2010
Spent over 300 hours in the emergency room, mental health ward and critical care center of the Lutheran Medical Center counseling hospital patients during times of trauma and loss. Provided emotional and spiritual support to hundreds of suffering men and women.
Summer 2006
Explored the elements that make a strong Jewish community, connected with Jews from around the world, discussed Jewish identity, studied with a number of scholars, took part in many different kinds of Jewish worship and expressed Judaism through art.
Studied environmental design, mud building, environmental ethics, permaculture and organic gardening. Built structures out of mud and recycled materials. Taught composting and organic gardening techniques to tour groups. Studied Jewish texts on the environment.
