G. Procedure: After daily lesson is taught, students will go to their assigned centers. Reading Rock Stars Recording Studio Canter will go as follows: 1. Group will first listen to the entire story, paying attention to the readers tone and inflection, gaining total comprehension of the story being told. When students better understand the text, they are able to read with better inflection and with less hesitation or false starts.

2. After listening to the story once through, students will individually begin to read the story out loud while taping themselves. 3. Instruct students to record only one page at a time. This will allow them to listen to the recording and decide if it needs to be re-recorded or if they are satisfied with their performance and are ready to move on to the next section. 4. Before switching centers, have students log their progress for the day, return their tape and log to their folder, put away their folder and rewind the tape to the beginning of the story for the next group.

5. By the end of the week, students are expected to have a recording of the entire story demonstrating fluency in reading and turn it in to be reviewed and assessed. Student who finish early are urged to share their recording with their peers for feedback.

6. Work will be graded using the rubric and comments will be given to share strengths and weaknesses of the recording. H. Assessment Students will record their readings each day. By listening to their recordings I will be able to measure their fluency growth on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The grading rubric will assess students strengths in the center. They will be graded on a scale of "Consistently", "Sometimes" and "Rarely" exhibiting strength in the following areas, Language, Voice, Pace and Time Management and Focus. The Rubric will track growth in reading fluency skills as well as their participation and enthusiasm of the assignment. I expect that as their fluency enhances, their comprehension skills will also increase, resulting in improved test scores. I also anticipate students will become more comfortable with reading and consequently participate in whole class read-alouds more frequently. Students will be held responsible for managing their time so they will complete the story by the end of the week.
