Can Benedict XVI Be The Pope?

By: Phil Friedl

“Judge that which is just: whether he be one of your country, or a stranger.

There shall be no difference of persons, you shall hear the little as well as the
great: neither shall you respect any man's person, because it is the judgment of
God.” i

1
A person had asked do Christians, Muslims, and Jews worship the same God? Because
Antipope Benedict XVI has stated it numerous times publicly. I answer in the negative,
Christians (emphasis: Catholics) are the only ones that truly worship God properly. In the
eyes of the Jews, they are the ones that crucified their Messiah. “And the whole people
answering, said: His blood be upon us and our children.” ii
“The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by
whom the Son of man shall be betrayed: it were better for him, if that man had not been
born.”iii A good portion of the Jews refused to convert to the Christian Faith and accept
Jesus Christ and His Church. That is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. Up until
the time of Jesus Christ the Jews, were the Chosen people. Since they, the Jews, betrayed
Him, God choose a new people, that is the Christians.
Antipope Benedict XVI stated in his book, Pilgrim Fellowship of Faith published in
2002 before his election as Pope: “Islam, too, ...has inherited from Israel and the Christians
the same God.” iv
Now that is a powerful statement from a man claiming to be Catholic, especially the
Pope. Because the definition of indifferentism is the following.

Indifferentism: “The denial that the worship of God and the practice of true
religion is a duty of man. This indifferentism is of varying degrees and
expressed in different maxims: “There is no God”; “Man cannot know if there
be a God”; “One religion is a good as another”; “It does not matter what you
believe so long as you act well”; “The only useful function of religion is to keep
the lower classes in order.” v

Logically under the Christian Definition (shown above), Antipope Benedict XVI would
fit under the line: “One religion is as good as another.” It is evident that Antipope Benedict
XVI truly believes it is thus for he made it a public act (emphasis: published book). Now,
there cannot be an excuse for ignorance.
And as Canon Law 16 states: “No ignorance of invalidating laws excuses from their
observance. As a rule, ignorance or error is not presumed when it concerns the law or its
penalty, or one's own action.” (Catholic Commentary from the book states the following: In
the external forum everybody is presumed to know the law.)
Antipope Benedict XVI can now be labeled, justly, as an indifferentist for that is what
he believes (emphasis: indifferentism). We know that by Canon Law there is no excuse for
ignorance. One cannot be ignorant until proven at the time of the act that he truly was.
Therefore in the eyes of the Church, Antipope Benedict XVI is guilty for his act made in
2002. What then are the consequences to this act?

Apostasy: “Apostasy from the Faith (a fide) is the act by which a baptized
person, after possessing the true Christian faith, totally rejects it. A person is
an apostate whether he joins a non-Christian religion, a Judaism, Buddhism,
Islam, or falls into unbelief, atheism, materialism, agnosticism, rationalism,
indifferentism or 'free thought.' Apostates from the Faith incur
excommunication ipso facto (automatically), and other penalties. Penalties are
incurred only for the crime of apostasy, not for the sin, i.e. There must be
some external act. Apostates remain subject to the laws of the Church.” vi

2
Antipope Benedict XVI now then must be labeled as an apostate, because he believes
in indifferentism. We further hit the nail into the coffin for he further states in Catechesis
on twenty fourth of August in 2005:

“This year is also the 40th anniversary of the conciliar Declaration Nostra
Aetate, which has ushered in a new season of dialogue and spiritual solidarity
between Jews and Christians, as well as esteem for the other great religious
traditions. Islam occupies a special place among them” vii

Now what then is the Declaration of Nostra Aetate? Nostra Aetate was published by
Antipope Paul VI on twenty eighth of October in 1965:

“The Church reproves, as foreign to the mind of Christ, any discrimination

against men or harassment of them because of their religion. The Church
regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and
subsisting in Himself; merciful and all powerful, the Creator of heaven and
earth.” viii

“Wait a second,” You might ask. “So you are saying to me, that Paul VI believes that
Jews, Muslims, and Christians all believe in the same God? How can that be?” That is
exactly my point, it cannot be. Just like in mathematics in grade school. There was only
one correct answer for 1+1. And what does that equal? 2. There cannot be two correct
answers for that mathematical statement. So if there is only one correct answer for that
statement, there too must only be one correct faith to worshiping God (emphasis:
Christianity)
Now since we put things into context, let us go back to the original quote. “It is a
new season of dialogue and spiritual solidarity...as well as esteem for other great religious
traditions.”
Antipope Benedict XVI does not hold to the standard of Truth (emphasis: Christian
1
Faith ), “having no fixed definition or idea; constant evolution or change” because he is
indifferent, a drifter, a hobo, a homeless man in regards to religion. We may also state that
Antipope Benedict XVI follows as his ideal:

“What may be good yesterday is not good today, so we must set a new
standard. What may be good today, may be not good tomorrow so we will
change it when tomorrow comes.”

This tendency forms itself into the faith of evolution, not just in the natural science
perspective, but in all forms, from government, to morals, etc. However, the Truth is an
ever constant fixed idea, indifferentists (emphasis: Antipope Benedict XVI) discard
necessity of the Truth. The Truth is ever the constant standard. Just as 1 + 1 will always
equal 2, not 3 or 4. Which was true yesterday, will be true today, and tomorrow it will still
be true. Antipope Benedict XVI, does not conform to the established doctrine 2, as
Webster's dictionary defines it as. And to not be orthodox is to be unorthodox, then he

1 Not to be confused that the Catholic Faith is the only Christian faith!
2 This is the definition from Webster's Dictionary of orthodox.

would fit the definition of cult: “a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious.” To better
phrase it, Antipope Benedict XVI is a cult member (rather leader now) of Modernism.
Because Modernism is a religion of indifferentism, a religion regarded as unorthodox or
spurious is the definition of a cult by Webster's definition. Now Modernism is a cult because
it is unorthodox namely because it does not bring true worship to God, which fits the
Catholic definition of Indifferentism. It was God Himself who established the Church, “and
this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in the whole world, for a testimony to all
nations, and then shall the consummation come.” ix The faith which the Church professes
must be the only true faith. In the eyes of Webster's Dictionary, it would be orthodox. But
Modernism is a false heretical cult condemned by the Church, since it is unorthodox and
spurious, was especially condemned by Pope St. Pius X in his encyclical, Pascendi Dominici
Gregis on the eighth of September 1907.

We summarize our little writing with the following. As Antipope Benedict XVI states
in an Address on twenty second of December in 2006:

“My visit to Turkey afforded me the opportunity to show also publicly my

respect for the Islamic Religion, a respect, moreover, which the Second Vatican
Council (declaration Nostra Aetate) pointed out to us as an attitude that is only
right” x

As well as this quote from Pontifical Biblical Commission, Foreword by Antipope

Benedict XVI in 2001: “Jewish messianic expectation is not in vain...” xi
As Pope Alexander XII condemned the error in his Various Errors on Moral Matters, on
the twenty fourth of September in 1165: “Although it is evidently established by you that
Peter is a heretic, you are not bound to denounce him.” Condemned xii
We, Christians, are bound to denounce heretics and antipopes, especially if they
attempt to occupy the Throne of St. Peter.
