TITLE: TI U CHUN K THUT TAY THNG XE MY

1.0 SCOPE: This specification is an extension of the released drawings on which it is noted. All parts must be capable of meeting all provisions of this specification in addition to all drawing requirements. All components tested under this specification shall be in accordance with drawing requirements. 2.0 DESCRIPTION: This specification outlines test procedures and acceptance criteria used for design certification testing of motorcycle brake and clutch levers. 3.0 GENERAL TEST NOTES: 3.1. Mounting: The test parts shall be mounted essentially as in service utilizing a fixture which simulates the use of these components unless otherwise specified. 3.2. Test Parameter Tolerances: Pressures, temperatures, time periods, frequencies, and forces shall be maintained within 5%, unless otherwise specified. 3.3. Required Samples: A minimum of (6) samples from each cavity (or in the case of a forging each die set) are required. All samples are to have the gates removed, trimmed, and polished/painted/plated with production methods. 4.0 Test Set-Up: 4.1. Apply Force: A force shall be applied at a distance of 1.200 inches from finger side, tangent point, of ball end (see Figure 1). Load should be perpendicular to finger pad at initial set-up. 4.2. Rate of Apply: A force shall be applied at a rate not to exceed 45 lbs/s.

Rev. B 2

TITLE: SPEC., MOTORCYCLE LEVER PERFORMANCE

5.0 Test Procedure: 5.1. Plot load Vs. Displacement for each sample. 5.2. Load lever to failure or .400 inches of displacement, which ever comes first. Suggested scale factors for discrimination load 600 lb range (60 lb/in on grid). 6.0 Acceptance Requirements: All the following criteria must be met: 6.1 Using a 2% offset, yield point must be above 135 lbs. 6.2 Using a 2% offset, displacement at 135 lbs must be below .200 in. 6.3 Burst load must be above 169 lbs (for clarification purposes if a sample does not break but meets criteria from 6.1 & 6.2, the sample is deemed acceptable).
