"This strategy would involve us in the wrong war, at the wrong place, at the wrong time and with the wrong enemy." This quote was the one I used on the homepage of my website. It was an excellent quote so I thought it would fit the home-page, as it is the first page you would read. This quote was said during the Korean War. Chiang, Kai-shek, Winston Churchill, and Franklin Roosevelt. Proc. of Cairo Conference, Residence of the American Ambassador Alexander Kirk near the Pyramids, Cairo, Egypt. December 1st, 1943. 1. The Cairo Conference was between the three great allies where they discussed specific details like what would happen to Japan's colonies. In this conference they discussed the what would happen to Korean - which they decided that they would divide Korea in half. The quote was "Obviously all of us know that the composition that was reached in Korea is not satisfactory to America, but it is far better than to continue the bloody, dreary, sacrifice of lives with no possible strictly military victory in sight." It was very interesting and was a quote after the Korean War. Enlai, Zhou. Quote. "Diplomacy is a continuation of war by other means." This is a quote from Zhou Enlai, Mao's right hand man. I used this quote for the China's Entry page. This quote was actually one of my favorite quotes and was very useful even though it wasn't actually a part of the Korean War. MacArthur, Douglas. "General Douglas MacArthur's Address to Congress of the United States." Korean War Educator. 2002-2012. I used a quote from the address on my Power Control page. The quote was very interesting and helped me a bit on the research. MacArthur, Douglas. Quote. Once war is forced upon us, there is no alternative than to apply every available means to bring it to a swift end. Wars very object is victory-not prolonged indecision. This

quote was from a general in the Korean War. He has many excellent quotes but this one was the best for the China's entry page even though it wasn't talking about China's entry. This site gave me the speech of Franklin D. Roosevelt which he said on the day of the Crimea Conference also known at the Yalta Conference. It was a well-given speech which he addressed the U.S Congress. He knew he would live long, giving this speech and also not long enough to see the lines of division that will be given. Truman, Harry. "In my generation, this was not the first occasion when the strong had attacked the weak.Communism was acting in Korea just as Hitler, Mussolini, and the Japanese had acted ten, fifteen, and twenty years earlier. I felt certain that if South Korea was allowed to fall, Communist leaders would be emboldened to override nations closer to our own shores." I used this quote on my Power Control page. This quote was a very interesting quote, the way he talked about Communism. I think this quote was after the Korean War was ended. Truman, Harry. "Speech on Korean War." This speech was very interesting. I used it to understand a little more about the situation in Korea in 1951. I also used a quote from this speech on one of my pages on my website. Truman, Harry. This speech was extremely useful to my research as it showed the American's point of view on the Korean War. It talks about the communist forces and how they were strong. I found a quote that from Mao on this site and used it on my Leaning Towards page. The quote is from a speech he did on February 7, 1953. A little more detailed than the other things I have read, like they entered just because it was their border and things like this. In this video, he explains what it was and why did it happen. On this site, it gave be a brief summary of the situation in Korea before the Korean War. With Japan's rule, Korea seems to get better but with a harsh ruler. This site helped me understand more about the Yalta Conference in Crimea and also more about the end of the conferences on February 11th, 1945. It also taught me more about the 38th parallel, since I had trouble trying to learn about the split. Which in general, helped me more on the general idea of the Korean War and then to China's entry.
