If children are the first priority, everyone else cant have everything else they want. Children are not the Future. They are the Present Here+Now moving forward There can be no Special Agenda. Billionaires are entitled to their opinions but not to run public education. The only Special Interest is Children. Students are not data points. Test scores are not outcomes. Teachers are not education delivery laborers. Schools are not spreadsheets, Education is not a Business. This is not a race to anywhere. We measure success one child at a time, over time. Parents trust us with their most precious treasure. We cannot settle for Parent Involvement or Parent Engagement; we can settle for nothing less than Parent Partnership a true partnership with Parents and the Community in the Education of All Children Brown and Black and White and Asian; Gifted, Special Ed and English Learners; rich and poor; the student body president and the troublemaker on the bench outside the principals office. We We the People - you and I and every one of us - are LAUSD; these are Our Children.
