A message from Jesus

In many ways the modern world fights against simple faith and patience. In Bible times it was easier for My prophets to remain months, or even years, in one place when I told them to; or to wait years for My deliverance, because life moved slower. However, you are accustomed to texting, email and phone communication, along with the Internet and air travel; the pace of your life and getting things done is much faster. This could make it harder for you to have patience.
Wow! Its been 40 years since I began tending sheep. I wonder if Ill do anything else with my life.

Oh, hi! I was just about to call you. I had a question.

Jesus, please fix my laptop right away! I have a timely book report that I just have to finish.

Here, mom, let me help you with that!

It could make you expect email speed answers to prayer. Its not that Im incapable of giving you speedy answers, but sometimes I know its good for you to wait and for whatever difficulty you may be facing to work patience (Romans 5:3). Speedy deliverance from every difficulty isnt always the best way out or what will bring the best outcome in the long run.

Its been two WHOLE days and my computer is still not fixed! Jesus, pleeeease give me patience!

In reading the Bible you see how important patience is. Its even worthwhile to pray for patience. For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise (Hebrews 10:36 AKJV).

I often go slower than you might expect, because thats the better way to accomplish My purpose, to bring you the best solution to a problem.

Wow, this is a really cool devotional! Its nice to read away from my laptop without the usual distractions. I think Im starting to miss it less and less.

Hmm, my MP3 player just stopped working. There must be a good reason this happened. I know the Lord will supply in His perfect time.

It takes faith to be patient, though. And as you work to strengthen your faith through reading and obeying My Word, youll find that patience is much easier to come by. So ask for it, study My Word for it, and wait for it.

No matter what things look like and no matter how you feel, Gods Word is the solution. His Word will stabilize you. Whenever you need a boost in the spirit, Gods Word will give it to you.Maria Fontaine
