WIND TURBINE IN OUR LIFE

A wind turbine is a device that turns winds kinetic energy into the electrical energy. The first wind turbine was a battery charging machine that made in July 1887 by Scottish academic James Blyth who set the pace for future. Since that day wind energy has developed expeditiously, making wind one of the fastest growing sources of electricity in the world today. Due to environmental advantages, political supremacy and economic benefits on people and countries, wind turbine is the best invention to our growing energy needs. First of all, wind turbines are more cooperative with Earth than any other way that producing energy. Wind energy also conserves water resources. For instance, producing the same amount of electricity can take 600 times more water with nuclear power and about 500 times more water with coal than wind. Other sources of electricity bring out harmful particulate like carbon dioxide which evoke to global climate changing and acid rain. Wind energy is pollution free. Wind farms are spaced over a large geographic area, but their actual "footprint" covers only a small portion of the land provoking a minimum impact on crop production or livestock grazing. Large buildings cannot be built near the turbine, thus wind farms preserve open space. Secondly, wind turbines are growing up around the globe in record numbers. By the end of 2010, there were over 197,000 MW of wind installed around the world, which is more than three-times the 59,000 MW installed in 2005. The pace of growth is now biggest in China, where installed wind energy capacity grew by 18,928 MW in 2010; over half of their total 25,805 MW installed capacity. Yet the United States leads the world in total installation by end of year 2010. The growth in the Chinese market put China second in total installed wind capacity, edging out Germany. Spain continues to be a leader in wind power, with India, France, Italy and the UK rising in the market. These countries prefer to produce their energy rather than buy it out of country. Although our country has an immense potential for wind turbine, this sector did not make the grade. In these days our company Fina Enerji has bought 40 wind turbines from the USA. As Saraolu states using such machines with advanced technology will not only improve the capacity factors and capital productivities but also help to decrease our nations dependency on foreign sources of energy (2012, GE News). Wind energy is homegrown energy and reduces our dependence on foreign fossil fuel. Wind turbines enable the countries to get their political supremacy and economic progress.

Another contributing factor is wind turbines provide people lots of benefits. Wind energy creates new short and long term jobs. The price of electricity from fossil fuels and nuclear power can increase greatly due to highly variable mining and transportation costs. Because of wind is a native fuel that does not need to be mined or transported, taking two expensive aspects out of long-term energy costs, it provides people cheaper fuel than any other. In addition to reducing fuel cost, it also decreases the bill costs. Because of these economic efficacies, peoples financial status gets better. To sum up, wind turbines are the best way to avoid the bad side of environment and to make progress economically and politically. We should enhance our wind turbine number if we want to be a leader country in the future.
