Daily Reflection # 38

October 11, 2012 My students today make me feel proud and happy of the profession I choose; teacher. They were answering and eager to participate in class. The students have to come on front and paste the flashcard of the parts of the body on a poster with a human body. The students also have fun when playing Simons says they didnt want to stop. This group is very challenging because of their behavior, today I have to stop the class a couple of time to call their attention for this reason I wasnt able to finish the lesson plan today for this reason I will finish this next day we met. The students at this level are good to facilitate learning because everything amazes them but at the same time is the hard level because of the behavior. At this level you have to be very active to keep their attention.

Daily Reflection # 39 October 18, 2012

Today I finish the lesson plan that I wasnt able to finish last time. Today the students where more cooperative and behave better. Today I feel good because I was able to stop the attitudes of one of my student talking to him let him know that he is a good student and he looks very good when he behave. He stops doing the bad behavior and was more receptive toward the class. This make me realize how important is to try new methods with the students when trying to modify conducts. If you keep telling them the bad thing they most likely will continue with these attitudes. When you emphasize in the positive aspect they possess they come around.

Daily Reflection # 40 October 19, 2012 Today I feel a little bit anxious and nervous when administrating the test on the theme of My Body. The students shows problem to listen and follow instructions this is really frustrating. No meter what technique do you use is like nothing work. The group is really challenging even when I was going item by item of the test the students were not listening I have to repeat myself. Today I left the practice center trying to figure out what technique to use to modify my students conduct in benefit of their learning.

Daily Reflection # 41 October 22, 2012 Today was really emotional day. I start the theme of family. For the closing activities the students have to draw in a piece of paper their family. When I sent them to work in their tables one of the students approach to me sad and tell me he cannot draw his father because he is not living in his house anymore. I told him that he can draw him because the task is to draw his family not the one that lives with him. I tell him that not matter his father is not leaving now under the same room he loves him very much. That he will always can count with his father. Today because of this situation I remember what we teachers are for and the importance of not be indifferent toward the students situation. After the class was over I approach the social worker Dr. Falero and tell her what happen and refer the case. This situation of the separation of their parents was affecting my student. Since that day he always looks for me and he is asking for support and love. This is what I like of being a teacher being there for the students and help them the same way teacher in the past did with me and make the difference.

Daily Reflection # 42 November 8, 2012 Today was a good day for me at the CDPRE. I read to my students the story The Colors of Miss Daisy Violet. I really enjoy today class because I love to transmit the love and passion that I have for reading. It is important to motivate the students to read, they need to see that reading is fun. It is really important to start building this love toward the reading since this level so with the time they became good readers. The student through the reading gain lots of vocabulary. Today I feel happy because the students like storytelling and pays attention which is hard to get usually.

Daily Reflection # 43 November 9, 2012 During today class I feel overwarm because is too hard to catch the students attention. This group is really difficult every day I finish exhaust and burn. I love my student dearly but I feel Im out uses the behavior chart and nothing work. My students even though present this behavior problem they are really smart and perform well. One of the most difficult things in this level for me is the continuous wining and continuous complaining about others students. At the end of the day what I really want is go to the beach and be myself in silence. I also love being with my students and I love to help them but sometimes get hard.

Daily Lesson # 44 November 26, 2012 Today was a good day for me at CDPRE. The students have today a test and they were following instructions and they master the skill. Before I hand it the test I went item by item with them. Then after they have the test I went again through the instructions. As a teacher the assessment is a key factor in the educational process. In here the teacher is able to observe if the learning had taken place. The assessment has to cover what you have taught before and do it in a fun way. Today I felt really happy because my students are learning.

Daily Reflection # 45
