Battles: 14 March 1862 arrived at New Bern, North Carolina to assist in an orderly retreat after the battle there Other: Enlisted 13 August 1861 for period of one year Physical description: 55, fair complexion, blue eyes and light colored hair Re-enlisted for duration of the war when entire regiment re-organized in March of 1862 Hospitalized and ultimately given medical discharge on 14 April 1862 due to a hernia which he had suffered with for some time and has been little benefited by treatment.
