Testing is a Must
Mobile payments in an NFC ecosystem involve a number of parties interfacing and exchanging secure information. Interoperability is the key here; thorough testing is a must before deployment to the market. Collis has extensive experience and knowledge in the mobile and payment market. Based on this expertise, Collis developed a test suite for all parties inv olved. To perform tests before connecting any other party, simulation of the counterpart systems is available, supporting development. Issues can be found at an early stage. Mobile Payments
To enable mobile payments within the NFC ecosystem, the customers bank must have access to the mobile handset and its secure element acting as a mobile application issuer, issuing virtual payment cards. This is facilitated using virtual data preparation centers, virtual card personalization bureaus and virtual card suppliers. Representing financial value, it must be handled securely. The connecting bridge between these parties is a TSM: a trusted party that assures secure exchange of information.

Solution for Mobile Application Issuer
As a Service Provider, your primary objective is to enable your product, e.g. payment or transit application, on the customers mobile handset. To do this successfully, the messaging interface to the rest of the NFC Ecosystem must comply with GP standards. Through this interface, you have access to your customers SE and Device components (i.e. applications code and data, certificates/keys, and personalization data). Collis TSM Test Suite is capable of both simulation of the counterpart systems and validation of the messaging interface. The test suite simulates the complete chain of systems interfacing with your system, handles all use-cases that occur in an NFC Ecosystem, and validates the correctness of your messaging interface.

Solution for Mobile Network Operator

The main objective of you as an MNO in the NFC Ecosystem is, on the one hand, to be a reliable link towards your customers: managing your customer base and the lifecycle of NFC-enabled handsets and Secure Elements, provisioning Secure Domain management processes, and delivering within agreed service levels. On the other hand, you are interfacing with the other parties in the ecosystem which calls for correct messaging and high-volume payload handling. With the Collis TSM Test Suite, you can simulate other parties (i.e. SP/ TSM) to send requests/messages to your system and validate the correct behavior of your system. This assists in testing and validating if your system responds correctly in conformance with GP standards.

Solution for TSM Operator

Being the linking pin between MNO and SP, as a TSM operator you are required to smoothly exchange information among these parties. When an SP sends you a message (e.g. install application), you need to perform several validation tests on the message; check your system (e.g. SE audit, card content management, etc); request the MNO to provide relevant information (e.g. eligibility check); and finally, once everything is checked and correct, you may load/install the application to the SE. Collis TSM Test Suite simulates this complete process and is able to validate all messaging according to GP standards.
