1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan through Government of the Punjab has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of New Khanki Barrage Construction Project. Part of this loan will be used for payments under the contract named above. A Single-Stage, Two-Envelope bidding procedure is open to bidders from eligible source countries of ADB. 2. The Punjab Irrigation Department, Government of the Punjab (the Employer) invites sealed bids from the eligible bidders for the construction and completion of the New Khanki Barrage Construction Project. The work mainly comprise the following: Construction of main weir, under-sluices, silt excluder, divide walls, fish ladders, guide bunds, head regulator of Lower Chenab Canal, approach road (approx. 30 km), re-aligned canal. Design, manufacture , supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Radial gates equipment comprising gate leaf assembly, wire rope and hoisting system, hoisting plate form, railing and embedded metal parts, cill, grooves, guide frames etc. for: o Main weir (60 ft wide) = 55 sets o Undersluice (60 ft wide) = 10 sets o Head regulator (20 ft wide) = 06 sets Dismantling of existing Khanki Headworks Provision and installation of Peizometers Design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of Local and Central Control Unit for automatic operation of all gates Design and Installation of Pumps for lift Irrigation scheme (100 cfs) 3. To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should: write to address above requesting the bidding documents for "Construction of New Khanki Barrage and Auxiliary Works" pay a non-refundable fee of Rupees Twenty (20) Thousand Only by cash 5. Deliver your bid: to the address above on or before the deadline: October 31, 2012 (11:00 hours) together with a Bid Security as described in the Bidding Document (Data Sheet). Technical Bids will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidders representatives who chose to attend. For the purpose of determining the equivalent amount of the required Bid Security in a freely convertible currency, the exchange rates published by State Bank of Pakistan prevailing on the date 28 days prior to the deadline for bid submission shall be applied.
