Wonderla Environment & Energy Conservation Awards Announced

Uthinoor GHSS Kasargode emerges winner

The winners of the Wonderla Environment & Energy Conservation Award, instituted by Wonderla Amusement Park for Schools in Kerala, have been announced. Special Offers

Uthinoor GHSS in Kasargode District has been awarded the first position, followed by Kaipuzha St.George VHSS, Kottayam and Kidanganoor S.V.G VHSS, Pathanamthitta, sharing the second position. The third position has been won by three Schools : Bemmanur G.U.P.S, Palakkad, Kechery Govt. UP School, Ernakulam and Vimala Public School, Idukki. Besides, 20 Schools who put up an exemplary performance have also been awarded Consolation Prizes.

This Award, which is a part of Wonderlas Go Green initiative, instituted with the aim of encouraging the younger generation to adapt a life closer to Mother Nature and treat her with empathy, was adjudged taking into consideration the innovativeness and ingenuity in steps adopted by Schools to protect the environment and conserve Energy and Natural Resources; and also the contribution of Students and Teachers to the same.

The Jury had visited each participating School for direct assessment, after which the decision regarding the winners was made. The first, second and third place winners will receive a cash award of Rs. 50,000, Rs.25,000 and Rs. 15,000 along with Certificate of Appreciation. UP School, Bemmanad, Palakkad, MIHSS Girls, Puthu Ponnani, Malappuram, St.Pauls EMHSS, Thenjipaalam, Malappuram, Ramakrishna Mission HSS, Meenchantha, Calicut, G.U.P.S, Vakayad, Calicut, Govt.
