OBJETIVOS GENERALES
• Desarrollar la capacidad de formular pensamientos propios sobre el texto, fundamentando
las ideas mediante citas tomadas del propio texto.
• Desarrollar la competencia literaria.
• Desarrollar una mayor comprensión de la cultura norteamericana a través de su literatura.
• Reconocer la naturaleza polisémica y temporal del lenguaje. Hacer aproximaciones a los
textos teniendo en cuenta dichas características.
• Desarrollar un aprendizaje literario autónomo.
• Disfrutar de la lectura, el pensamiento, la discusión, el análisis.
OBJETIVOS ESPECÍFICOS:
Organización Temática del Curso: “Conflictive Relationships”
El eje temático del curso se centrará en el tema de las relaciones interpersonales y entre
individuos y la sociedad. Se abordarán temas conectados con conflictos entre personajes y la
influencia de la sociedad en dichas relaciones. Se destacará el impacto de los valores, de los
mandatos y del Sueño Americano sobre las relaciones interpersonales en los diferentes grupos
étnicos y religiosos que conforman la sociedad americana así como también sobre la figura de
la mujer.
MODALIDAD DE TRABAJO: En las clases se analizarán diferentes textos cuya lectura se hará
con anterioridad. Se discutirán también artículos críticos que brinden interpretaciones de
dichos textos. Se trazarán analogías y diferencias entre los contenidos de cada texto, en
especial con respecto al hilo conductor o eje temático del curso. Se analizarán las técnicas
literarias utilizadas por cada escritor/a y se debatirán las diversas versiones de la realidad de
los escritores/as a trabajar. Se hará referencia al momento histórico del autor/a que permitirá
establecer vinculaciones entre las obras y su contexto. Los alumnos deberán confeccionar una
carpeta con ensayos cortos o trabajos creativos a elección al finalizar la lectura de cada uno de
los textos.

TRABAJOS PRÁCTICOS
Habrá 3 trabajos prácticos escritos. Uno de ellos será un cuestionario, otro será una carpeta
con trabajos creativos sobre los textos leídos en la primera parte del año. Y por último, una
monografía de alrededor de 2000 palabras sobre un tema a elección de los alumnos basada en
uno o dos textos en la bibliografía. Se podrá presentar un borrador de dicho trabajo para su
discusión con la profesora hasta una semana antes de la fecha de entrega de la copia final. La
monografía deberá ser entregada en mano en hoja A4 en una carpeta transparente en la fecha
a indicar. No se aceptarán trabajos por vía correo electrónico.

Habrá dos parciales orales, uno en julio y otro en noviembre.
