Perry Stone

Perry Stone is a fourth-generation "minister," and the director of Voice of Evangelism, whose purpose is to "reach the world with the [so-called] Gospel of Christ through revivals, television, audio/video media, printed material and missionary sponsorship." He is Charismatic. Personally, I like him and have read much of his literature in order to found out what he really believes; but professionally, he is a fraud. So in order to be fair, I will post what he believes, preaches and follows or said. Then what the bible teaches. This will allow for the reader to judge for themselves on the matter. He teaches that a person can receive physical healing and have their sins removed by taking communion. Perry Stone has sold a meal package deals (Manna-Fest Communion Packages) on his ministries' website, calling it the Lord's Supper, and claiming that if you bought them, that you be healed of any sickness or disease. Of course, Perry Stone won't give you a refund if you don't get healed. Jesus said this to his disciples. "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons: freely you have received, freely give." It is tragic today many have turned the church into a den of thieves, just as Jesus said (Luke 19:46). "Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but you have made it a den of thieves." Christianity is not a business! Perry Stone propagates the sinner's prayer which, without dealing personally with souls, gives false hope and assurance to millions of readers, on his Voice of Evangelism website. Under the "Contact Us" header on the VOE website is a link entitled, "How to be Saved," where readers are led through a prayer and at the end are promised salvation. It then welcome you as a new believer into God's family. It is entirely ironic that a ministry that claims to be and is called a "voice of evangelism" actually embraces the very method of evangelism that is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, problems plaguing Christendom in America today. The sinner's prayer and it's corresponding method of evangelism was never used by any of God's prophets, apostles, or disciples and is found nowhere in the Bible. It is a relatively recent development and has contributed to the false hope and assurance of millions who are led to believe they are saved and bound for Heaven when in reality are merely deceived, not saved, and on their way to Hell, never having been properly and biblically counseled about such matters. The first message to sinners is Acts 2:38. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of

you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Both Perry Stone and his father, Perry Fred Stone, Sr. (1933-2011), embrace necromancy. On one of the episodes of Perry Stone's "Manna-fest" television program, entitled, "Supernatural Encounters in the Last Days," his father discussed how the spirit of Al Collins, one of his friends who had died, visited him and told him that he was sent by God to tell him that God had called him to preach. Fred Stone discussed how he was caught up "out in the universe somewhere," where he saw "beautiful sapphire blue" and "a ball of light and fire" out of which the spirit of Al Collins met him. Fred also discussed how he was, like Paul the apostle in 2 Corinthians 12:3, caught up into Heaven, where he opened one of the many giant books which he saw, entitled, "The Mighty Acts and Words of Jesus." He said he was able to read the contents of the book, and claimed that these writings were connected to what John wrote in John 21:25 regarding how many of the things Jesus did were left unwritten. He then went on to suggest that preachers like his son, Perry Stone, sometimes are inspired by the Holy Spirit and unknowingly preach messages that are found in these celestial books. God in His law has explicitly condemned and forbidden His people from participating in necromancy (communicating with the dead or with the spirit world) and has declared it to be an abomination (Deuteronomy 18:10-12; Leviticus 19:31). An abomination is that which is detestable, vile, and shameful, something that arouses intense hatred coupled with disgust, and is abhorred or loathed by God. Lastly, Perry Stone often appears on the Godless (and scandalized) Trinity Broadcasting Show (TBN). Here Perry's response to another person who disagreed with all of the facts above. Here are his words.

"I am a forth generation minister from a classical Pentecostal background, and have over 42,000 hours of personal Bible study that is used when preparing any message. During over 32 years of ministry we have developed a large outreach ministry that reaches around the world. Let's see how many of the "wolf chasers" who ave nothing more to do than comment on things they know little about actually know about the VOE (Voice of Evangelism)ministry. Did your know: 1. We do not send out letters, monthly or during the year asking for financial support or money to our mailing list. 2. After a one time donation for initial costs ($20.00), the VOE magazine is sent free to everyone who request it, 6 times a year. Some have received it for over twenty years...at no cost. 3. We send thousands of books and other resources to prisoners FREE each year, at no cost and we pay the postage. We have actually spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to help those in prison with many converts to CHRIST!!! 4. We have a fund that helps the poor and needy with food, clothes, and other needs... 5. We minister in churches without asking for any set amount and operate only on a free will offering.

6. We have college professors, including several scholars who watch our TV programs and who by and large, agree with the majority of the content and interpretation of the message. Our ministry is funded from the sales of books, and materials. Oh, did I mention all funds received from these resource materials goes 100 percent back into the ministry? Perhaps I should mention that 30,000 precious souls have come to Christ and and over 42,000 have been baptized in the Holy Spirit (Opps...I'm sure you don't believe in that so now I'm a heretic)! Because you DISAGREE with a person's style, or certain content of a message, do NOT make them a FALSE PROPHET. A false prophet denies the Virgin Birth, Christ's deity, and his resurrection. Just thought it is better for someone to know about a person from the person, instead from someone's lopsided person opinion." Sincerely, Perry Stone
He is no doubt a good man, who thinks that he is following the will of God. Yet he is mistaken, as the content of our message (or the words that we speak) are very important. Jesus said this. "For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned." (Matthew 12:37) Note: Unlike some, I do believe in the gift of the Holy Spirit, with tongues as evidence, but that is not the baptism that now saves us. If we fail to place the word of God as top priority in our lives - no matter how great our works or gifts are - we will be lost. We are commanded by it to judge preachers by it, and not by our own judgment. "Beware of false prophets,

which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:15-23).
So we find that one day many who prophesied, healed and did many wonderful works in the Lord's name (of Jesus, read Acts 2:36; 10:36) were still lost. Why? Because they failed to obey the Scriptures. Paul commanded us all. "And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him." (Colossians 3:17) Baptism is a deed done, with a word spoken over it. One must apply the name of Jesus to it or remain lost. The apostle Paul was baptized into that same name (see Acts 18:8; 19:5;

1 Corinthians 1:1-18; Romans 6:3-5; Galatians 3;26-28, ect). And now why do

you tarry (wait)? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16) Trinitarians do not use it in their baptism.
He told us that anyone who diverted from this message in any form was a deceiver. "I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the

grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:6-10)
Now we have a choice of follow the word of God or a man. "And if it seem evil

unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:15)
No person can serve two masters. "No man can serve two masters: for either he will

hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money)." (Matthew 6:24) May the the peace and love of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
