Assuming that you want to install SP3D Client, below should be the step to follow: 1.Windows XP service pack 2 should be already be running as the OS of the client PC. 2.Oracle client 10g release 2 has to be installed. Following components should be loaded. Oracle Net 10.2.0.1.0 Oracle Database Utilities SQL *Plus (optional) Oracle Windows Interfaces (including all of its subcomponents) Oracle 10i Windows Documentation Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console (optional) Click OK on the message box that displays when you select Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console. On the Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server page, accept the default port number of 2030. 3. The following Microsoft components should be loaded in the client PC Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 2.0 Microsoft XML 4.0 Service Pack 2 Microsoft Data Access Components 2.7 or higher . Microsoft office Configure Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator on the windows XP client PC do the following 1.Click Start > Control Panel and double-click Administrative Tools. 2. Double-click Component Services. 3. Under Console Root, expand the Component Services and Computers nodes. 4. Under the Computers node, right-click on My Computer and select Properties. 5. On the MSDTC tab, click the Security Configuration button. 6. In the Security Configuration dialog box, do the following: In the Security Settings section, enable Network DTC Access. In the Transaction Manager Communication section, enable the Allow Outbound and No Authentication Required options. Enable the XA Transactions option. In the DTC Logon Account section, verify that NT AUTHORITY\Network Service appears in the Account box. 7. Click OK. Configure the Firewall to Allow DCOM Communication: The following procedure presumes that you are using the firewall delivered by Microsoft with Windows XP SP2. 1. Click Start > Control Panel > Security Center, and select Windows Firewall. 2. On the Exceptions tab in the Windows Firewall dialog box, click Add Program. 3. In the Add a Program dialog box, click Browse. 4. In the Browse dialog box, type %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\MSDTC.exe in the File name box and click Open. 5. In the Add a Program dialog box, click Change Scope and select the My network (subnet) only option.

6. Click OK, and then click OK in the Add a Program dialog box. 7. On the Exceptions tab, verify that MSDTC.exe has been added to the Programs and Services list. 8. On the Exceptions tab, click Add Port. 9. In the Add a Port dialog box, type RPC in the Name box and 135 in the Port number box. Tip Leave the protocol set to the default, TCP. 10. Click Change scope and select the My network (subnet) only option. 11. Click OK to close the Change scope dialog box. 12. Click OK to close the Add a Port dialog box. 13. On the Exceptions tab, verify that RPC has been added to the Programs and Services list, and then click OK to close the Windows Firewall dialog box. 14. Restart your computer so that the changes can take effect. Install SmartPlant 3D Client Software Insert the Intergraph SmartPlant 3D Product CD. Tip If the CD does not start automatically, double-click Setup.exe in the root folder of the CD. 2. Select SmartPlant 3D Installation. 3. Click Next on the Welcome to the SmartPlant 3D Installation Wizard page. Click Next. On the Select Features page, click Next Click next for doc file installation. Finally give ok for the software to install. Once setup is completed. Configure oracle client to add the Oracle instance. Next go to start-all programs-intergraph smartplant3D-database tools-modify database and schema location Oracle Databases 1. Open the Modify Database and Schema Location utility. 2. In the Database type list, select Oracle. 3. In the Oracle service name box, type the name of the Oracle net service for the Site database connection. 4. In the Site database name box, type the name of the Site database. 5. In the Oracle service name box, type the name of the Oracle net service for the Site schema database connection. 6. In the Site schema name box, type the name of the Site schema. 7. Click OK. Next go to start-all programs-Intergraph smartplant3D- smartplant3D. Select empty and give ok. From the task menu Select the configure button. A form will open. Select all the details on the left side of the screen and select the add button. Give ok. Now select common from the task menu. Next select File menu- define workspace. Select more. Select the plant filter. Next select the 2nd icon from the top. Next under system select the top hierarchy and give ok. If all your SP 3D server and client PC installation are correctly done you should see a sample 3D model.
