The Black Sea and the city of Giresun, just north of Zara in Turkey.

This city is similar to Samsun, also on the Black Sea, a few miles to the west, with groves of bush-like hazelnuts, olive and orange trees, and green fields of corn, sloping down to the water. Samsun was the port of embarkation for rJishan K. Sherinian and his family, who immigrated to America in October, 1902, traveling by ship from Samsun on the Plack 'yea to Constantinople and then to . larseilles, France. From Marseilles, they embarked on another ship and after twelve days arrived in New York Harbor, finally arriving in Salt Lake City, Utah, one day before Thanksgiving, where they were greeted by Elders laycock and Hintze.
