Daddy and mummy are planning to go camping for the coming school holiday. All family members wil go camping. I want to invite you and all your family members to join us. We will have more fun when you are around. Uncle Lim, I searched the internet and I have found a suitable campsite. The campsite is Bukit Kaya Waterfall. It has a beautiful campsite. The campsite is clean and shady. There are many trees there. It is also peaceful. We can relax our mind. What is more important is that the campsite is safe. Bukit Kaya Waterfall is a good location for camping. It is near a town. We can go by car or by bus. It is a 20-minute bus ride from the town. There is also a mini market near the campsite. Therefore, we do not have to bring a lot of things. We can buy what we need at the mini market. The campsite has good facilities. A company there offers a tent for rent service. Another facility is childrens playground. I can play with my cousins at the playground. There are also toilets and shower rooms. The toilets are clean. I plan many interesting activities. We will have barbecue at night. We can play games. We can play volleyball in the river. It will be fun. Besides, swimming and jungle trekking are also interesting activities. I am sure our camping will not be boring. I really hope you, Aunty Zee, Dina and Lin will join us. Please, please join us. Please tell me if you and your family can join us so that I can tell Daddy and Mummy. They also hope to see you and the others there. Bye. Your niece,

Sometimes, Johan likes to disturb other students especially girls. Last school holiday, Johan and his family travelled to his grandfathers house in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Johan enjoyed travelling to Kuala Kangsar because he loved the beautiful scenery along the journey. He and his father, mother and brother had to attend a wedding. It was his cousins wedding. After a corner, his father overtook a bullock cart. The bullock cart was moving very slowly. After his fathers car overtook it, Johan and his brother made faces. They laughed loudly. Johans father asked them to stop doing it but they continued laughing. Suddenly, there was a loud sound Pom!!!. It was like a bomb. A tyre punctured. Johan and his brother were panicked. Johans father almost lost control of the car. He slowed down and quickly stopped the car beside the road. Everybody got out of the car. Johans father stopped the car nearby some trees so the place was not hot. Johans father opened the car boot. However, there were no tools. He felt disappointed. He looked around but there was nobody to help them. Johan and his family waited for someone to stop and help them. Then, the bollock cart came to them. It was moving very slowly. Maybe the cow was very tired. The old man on the bullock cart offered them a ride. His name was Tok Mat. He was kind. Johans father accepted the mans offer. Johan and his brother were ashamed because they laughed at the old man earlier. They said sorry to Tok Mat. At first, Johans brother felt afraid but after a few minutes he enjoyed the ride. After thirty minutes, they arrived at Johans grandfathers house. He was very happy to see his grandfather. All of them thanked Tok Mat for his help. Johans father gave Tok Mat some money but he did not want to take it. Johan invited Tok Mat to attend his cousins wedding. [356 words]

PMR 2008 Good morning to our Principal, teachers and friends. As the Head Prefect, I have been asked to give a speech today about Safety Measures in School. Friends, safety should be emphasised at the various locations in school. The first location is the living skills room. This is the room that we always go. We must be careful when we use utensils and tools in this room. We must also follow instructions. There will be problems if students do not follow instructions. Remember, we cannot go into the room if there is no teacher there. Friends, safety is also important at the staircase. We must walk in line. We must not run. If we run we may fall down. We must avoid pushing. Pushing can cause accident. Do you want accident to happen, friends? I am sure you do not want it to happen to you or your friends. The third location is the science laboratory. We must be carefull when we conduct experiments. We must ask our teacher if we do not know how to do the experiment. We can also ask our clever friends to help us. We must also observe rules. This is important. Do you agree with me? Lastly, I want to talk about the school canteen. Everybody likes to go to the canteen. Am I right? Yes, we have go to the canteen during recess to buy food. Remember, it is very important to queue up when we buy food. Do not rush. Do not push other students. Before I end my speech, please remember about what I have said. Remember and practise the right safety measures in school. Thank you. [272 words]

PMR 2009 My Experience at an Old Folks Home Last month, the Computer Club of SMK Kota went to Harapan Old Folks Home. I was one of the 38 students and 2 teachers who went there. We went there by bus. Visiting the old folks home was our third project. We wanted to do something outside school. We arrived at the old folks home at 9.00 a.m. The manager of the home and a few residents waited for us at the office. They were happy to get young visitors like us. We had a few activities there. The first activity was done in the residents rooms. We made beds and cleaned the rooms. Some of us also cleaned the windows. I helped my friends to sweep the floor. The girls helped the old folks to comb their hair. They also cut their fingernails. The old ladies liked the girls a lot. They told the girls many interesting stories. At about 10.15 a.m., I joined my friends to cut grass. The gardener showed us how to use the lawn mower to cut the grass. After cutting the grass, we swept the compound. The compound looked very clean. The manager said he was very happy that we helped them to sweep the compound. When we finished all our work, all of us went to a small hall. The old folks were there. They were sitting on chairs. We entertained them. We sang three songs. I played guitar and sang a song. The old folks enjoyed themselves. We also gave some food to the old folks. We bought the best chicken rice in town. They loved the chicken rice very much. Before we went back we gave the residents presents. Intel Malaysia sponsored the presents. The old folks appreciated the presents very much. At 12.30 p.m., we had to say goodbye to them. We felt sad to leave them but all of us were very happy to help the old folks. [314 words]
