21ST IFSSO General Conference Moved to April 2013, 30 Papers to be Presented


The schedule of the 21st IFSSO General Conference, with the theme The Ways and Means of Living in Peace and Harmony in a Multicultural World, has been moved to 910 April 2013 from its original March 2013 schedule. The change in schedule was made upon the request of the host organizations in Turkey the Yildiz Technical University and the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture. The Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey remains as the venue of the conference. 30 papers were selected for presentation in the Conference from among the 109 submissions coming from 30 different countries. The screening of papers was made by a Scientific Committee composed of three Main Building of the Yildiz Technical University - the venue of the IFSSO representatives from the IFSSO Executive General Conference (Photo credit: Nestor Castro) Board and three representatives from the host organizations in Turkey. IFSSO General Assembly Scheduled for 10 April 2013

The General Assembly of the International Federation of Social Science Organizations (IFSSO) will be held on 10 April 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey. This is a day after the closing of the 21st IFSSO General Assembly. The General Assembly is the highest policy-making body of IFSSO and is convened once every two years. Full Member Organizations, Associate Member Organizations and Individual Members of IFSSO are entitled to attend and participate in the General Assembly. Among the items in the Agenda of the 2013 General Assembly are: 1) Report of the IFSSO President on the status of the Federation; 2) Formal acceptance of new member organizations and individuals; 3) Proposed amendments to IFSSOs By-laws; 4) Plans for 2013-15, including the 22nd General Conference; and 5) Election of the new Executive Board. Among the organizations expected to send delegations to the IFSSO General Assembly are the following: Anthropological Studies, Inc.
