H A L F E N HF R F IBRE G LAS S RE IN FO RCEMEN T

Traditional structures use concrete that is conventionally reinforced with carbon steel reinforcing bars. This combination of steel and concrete allows the support of high loads and enables a great deal of versatility in design. However, there are numerous applications in concrete construction where steel reinforcement may not be the best solution. Steel is subject to corrosion, and once this process begins it causes expansion forces in the concrete which result in cracking and leading to expensive repair bills. Stainless steel, galvanized steel, and epoxy coated reinforcing bars are alternatives for high corrosion environments, but each have their disadvantages based on cost, life expectancy, or requirements for special inspection and quality control. Steel is also heavy, conducts electricity, and affects magnetic fields. In certain structures these attributes create design problems. For applications where steel reinforcement is not an option the HALFEN HFR fiber glass reinforcement system can be an excellent solution. HALFEN in conjunction with the FIREP Group has developed a range of innovative reinforced fiber products with outstanding material properties. The resulting HALFEN HFR fiber glass reinforcement system has approximately twice the tensile strength of steel, while only about a third of the weight. It is corrosion-resistant and can be produced in many reinforcement bending formats. HALFEN HFR bars are produced using a very special pultrusion process, during which the surface of the bar is given its ribbed bonding surface without exposing or damaging the continuous fibers running through the bar. This protects the fibers against mechanical and chemical damage and allows simple and safe handling. Quality features are: High tensile strength Low weight High corrosion/chemical resistance Easy to cut to length. No electrical conductivity, or electrostatic charge Non-magnetic Sealed bar surface

H A L F E N BO DY ANCHO RS TYPE B A/ H R M/ D T/ DH
HALFEN body anchors are adjustable restraint and support products for stone facades. Utilizing a dowel restraint system the anchors require drilled holes in the stone rather than conventional kerf slots. This minimizes work in preparing the stone, and reduces the risk of freeze-thaw damage to the stone. The anchors offer three dimensional adjustment, and can be attached to the structure using HALFEN channels or drilled bolts. HALFEN body anchors are available in four product ranges HRM, BA, DH and DT. This selection provides a considerable number of design options, catering for various wind loads, stone weights and cavity situations. All HALFEN body anchors are produced in stainless steel for high corrosion resistance and minimal thermal transfer.

Quality features are: Fully pre-engineered solutions Projections from 1 to 9 (40240 mm) Adjustable in three directions Can be used in either horizontal or vertical joints
