General Evaluators Script As general evaluator it is my task to lead the evaluation portion of the meeting.

At this time we look back on our performance and how well we carried out our tasks remembering throughout that these are our only personal opinions. To begin with Ill call on ________________ to evaluate our first speaker _________________. (Lead the applause) Thank you ______________. Ill now ask __________________ to evaluate our second speaker ______________. (Lead the applause) Thank you ______________.

Following these reports the general evaluator gives his/her overall impression of the meeting emphasizing how well we followed our meeting guidelines and Toastmaster traditions. Here are some questions you should ask yourself as the meeting goes on. You DO NOT have to comment on all items unless you feel it necessary. Remember we have a limited time so hit the highlights and the areas where you felt we did particularly well or need to ad more emphasis. GENERAL: Was the meeting room ready in time for the meeting to start on time? Did the President start the meeting on time? Did the Toastmaster receive a proper introduction? TOASTMASTER: Did the Toastmaster start preparing for the meeting in advance? How well did the Toastmaster lead the meeting? Did the Toastmaster give good introductions for the topic master, speakers, and general evaluator? Did the Toastmaster lead the applause when necessary? Did the Toastmaster appear in control of the meeting throughout?

JOKES: Were the jokes appropriate for the audience? TOPIC MASTER: Were the topics challenging but capable of being responded to by the members of the audience? Were the lead-ins to the topics brief and to the point? Did the Topic Master identify the respondent at the last possible moment? Did the Topic Master lead the applause following each topic? EVALUATORS: Were the evaluators constructive and positive? Did they remind the audience that what they were giving was a personal opinion? Were the evaluations easy to follow, well organized and speaking only to the manner of the speech and not to the content? Note: It is not your responsibility to evaluate the speakers as the individual evaluators already have; your job is to evaluate the evaluators. If you feel something essential was omitted from a speakers evaluation comment briefly. WORD OF THE DAY Was the word one that could be used easily during the meeting? At this time well have our grammarians report. (Lead the applause) Thank you __________.

At this time Ill ask ___________ to present the timers report. (Lead the applause) Thank you __________.

That concludes my report. I now return control of the meeting to our Toastmaster.
