ABSTRACT
M2M communication is introduced to reduce human interference, response time & improve accuracy of any system. Wireless GSM communication networks are becoming faster & reliable with each next generation. These characteristics of networks can be used to make industrial applications more flexible by providing remote accessibility. This system is designed & proposed for remote assistance for industrial embedded application through Wireless GSM is network services like SMS. System will continuously monitor, maintain and lock different parameters of boiler like temperatures, liquid level and pressure .In case perceived value exceeds than set range, controlling action will be initiated d and same is informed to remote server as well as operator. The operator can monitor and update set point directly via SMS or remote server.
INTRODUCTION
Now a days many embedded Data Acquisition [DAS] systems are being used in industries. Majority among them are either stand alone or interacting with users through some standard communication interfaces like USB, Serial or Parallel communication, Controller Area Network(CAN) bus protocol. But to assist these systems either operator has to be in proximity of few meters or system need to be interfaced with internet enabled PC/Server for extending the range of internet accessibility. Figure. 1 shows role of M2M communication in industrial automation application. This work focuses on particular problem of operator involvement and lack of centralized data logging, correlati correlation and analysis functionality needed to improve decision making power remotely. The architecture uses software and hardware components already available and it does not required any improvement or modification to current GSM network, while the existing DAS systems can easily become smarter and flexible by enabling M2M Communication.[3] S
PROBLEM STATEMENTS
In processing plants the DAS systems have various input and output parameters to be observed, controlled and regulated. A main problem is to acquire and transmit such huge data from remote location through wired or wireless network in real time. Wireless networks using radio frequency is having wide coverage area but they get interrupted by etworks

obstacles like walls, building etc. such wireless systems are more complex. Also the cost of implementation is significantly high. The challenge is to provide cost effec effective, simple and always-on wireless solution for communication. on
PROPOSED SOLUTIONS
DAS systems used today are powered with the smart computational devices like microcontroller or microprocessors.Majority microcontrollers used in traditional DAS systems supports communication protocols like RS232 supports or serial communication, same communication interface can be extended and used for interfacing different type of MODEMs (MODulator DEModulator unit) like GSM modem, GPRS modem for M2M communication.
Wired network is not always a good solution, sometimes due to the cost of installing & maintaining wiring to a large number of devices or because the application is mobile. Also installation of a private radio network like RFID, Bluetooth, IrDA and Zigbee is not justified. So cellular provides a unique combination of geographic availability the availability,

ability to use as much or as little capacity as needed, low capital costs to gain access to the network, and high reliability. [1] Current cellular data connections are pure data pipes without any management capabilities. The transition from Circuit Switched connections like calls to Packet Switched like GPRS emphasizes the need for connection management, since SMS communication may be initiated by either end of the connection, but the GPRS system mandates that the connection is initiated by the end device in the network.[3] Even if GPRS provides higher data rate & always-on communication, but complexity involved in integrating TCP/IP stack for interfacing device with GPRS make it secondary choice for M2M communication. In recent years, SMS has become an increasingly important mechanism for M2M communication, with the ubiquity of GSM and the relatively low cost of SMS being cited as advantages. Concerns have been raised over the reliability of SMS as an M2M channel, however the rise of direct Signaling System 7 (SS7) connected SMS gateways, which can offer increased reliability and the ability to confirm delivery, have allayed many of these fears. Initialization of communication is comparatively easier in SMS than a call or DTMF as overhead like number busy, network busy should not be consider by remote system.[2]
OBSERVATION
AT commands are used to send request to GSM module and to receive back response from module. FOLLOWING PARAMETERS ARE SEND TO REMOTE ASSISTANT THROUGH GSM : Temp Set Val-150, Temp obs val-174, Upper level-1, Lower level-1, Heater status-0, I/P Solenoid- 0. O/P Solenoid-1

CONCLUSIONS
In this paper, we have presented embedded intelligent DAS system for operator remote assistance where M2M communication has been implemented. The system proposed also support real time parameter transmission over long distance, even at low cost. Also proposed system does not need any modification in existing GSM network. The current DAS uses Internate system for communication which get infected using various attacks. Also such systems has to make changes as per network, it requires separate network. While using GSM above limitations get overcomed.
