The individual uses high relationships orientation and low task orientation in situations where such behaviour is not appropriate & is therefore less effective. Executive
The individual uses high relationship orientation and high task orientation in situations where such behaviour is appropriate & is therefore more effective. This style of Management is mostly described as ideal. Executive Behaviour Indicators: Uses team work in decision making Uses participation appropriately Induces commitment to objectives Encourages higher performance Co-ordinates others in work

Developer
The individual uses high relationship orientation and low task orientation in situations where such behaviour is appropriate & is therefore more effective. Developer Behaviour Indicators: Maintains open communication channels Develops talents of others/coaches Understands others/supports Works well with others/supports Trusted by others/trusts/listens

When responsible for planning, involves many others

Bureaucrat
The individual uses low relationship orientation and low task orientation in situations where such behaviour is appropriate & is therefore more effective. Bureaucrat Behaviour Indicators: Reliable, dependable Follows orders, rules, Procedures Maintains systems Watches details/efficient Rational/logical/self controlled Fair/just/equitable Prefers written communication with others

Deserter
The individual uses low relationship orientation and low task orientation in situations where such behaviour is inappropriate & is therefore less effective. Deserter Behaviour Indicators: Works to rules/minimum output/gives up Avoids involvement / responsibility Gives few useful suggestions or opinions Uncreative / unoriginal / narrow minded Hinders others/ makes things difficult Resists change / uncooperative Shows little concerns about errors and does little to correct or reduce them

Autocrat
The individual uses low relationship orientation and high task orientation in situations where such behaviour is inappropriate & is therefore less effective. Autocrat Behaviour Indicators: Critical/threatening Makes decisions Demands obedience /suppresses conflict

Wants actions and results immediately Downward Communication only Acts without consultation Feared/disliked More interested in day to day productivity than in long run productivity Performance maintained through subtle threatening situation

Compromiser
The individual uses high relationship orientation and high task orientation in a situation that requires a high orientation to only one or neither and is therefore less effective. Compromiser Behaviour Indicators: of Overuses participation Yielding weak Avoids decisions Produces grey acceptable decisions Idealists/ambiguous Sometimes encourages new ideas but does not always follow up on too many them

Benevolent Autocrat
The individual uses low relationship orientation and high task orientation in situations where such behaviour is appropriate & is therefore more effective. Benevolent Autocrat Behaviour Indicators: Decisive/shows initiative Industrious/energetic Finisher/committed Evaluative of quality/quantity & time Costs, profits & sales conscious Obtains results Both develops & proposes many new ideas Values both efficiency & productivity
