Work Completed on Nells Prayer Garden at Northeast en Georgia Medical Center

The Fockele Garden Company recently completed Nells Prayer Garden at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The garden was built in honor of the Medical Center Foundations Chair Emeritus Nell Whelchel Wiegand who passed away in 2011. Nells Garden is located outside the North Patient Towers Dawn McKibbon Memorial Chapel adjacent to the Wilheit Keys Peace Garden. The garden curves around the outside of the chapel and is secluded by a wall for privacy. Trees, plants, shrubs, and planters provide color throughout the year. A boulder fountain in the center of the garden offers soothing sounds. Seating throughout the garden affords visitors a quiet place to reect. Nell Wiegand left a legacy of altruism and service. The founding member of the Medical Center Auxiliary served 60 years as a volunteer at the medical center.
