INTRODUCTION

At this moment the development of technology has touched all the aspect of human life. One of the aspects that felt the benefits from the development of technology is education. In education or at the school tech products began to be used in the learning process such as, radio, television, computer, laptop, projector, etc. Schools that located in the city usually have more complete facilities than schools located in the village areas. In the learning process there are some things that should be attention, one of things that should be attention is teaching media that influence to the process teaching and learning in schools. Learning media is a tool that functions as an intermediary or the transmitter content of the information form of visual and verbal of knowledge for teaching purposes. The problem of media we limit to the relevant to any problems

of learning or who are known as teaching media. Briggs said that the media is all the physical tools that can present the message and stimulate the media is can be a carrier students of to study. information the heard and read. learning.

Whereas, Schramm argued that

To convey the message of learning from teacher to the student, teachers typically use teaching aids in the form of drawings, models, or other tools that can provide concrete

experience, motivation to learn, as well as enhance the absorptive capacity or that we know as visual aids. The use of media in the learning process can help children in providing a students. Usage of media in the learning

meaningful experience for

process can facilitate students in understanding something abstract into more concrete. This is consistent with the opinion of Jerome S Bruner that students learn through

three stages are enaktik, iconic, and symbolic. In the discussion I will explain about learn to write descriptive text using the teaching media visual that is digital image projector. Projector is a device that uses light and lenses to take an image and project a magnified image into a larger screen or wall. Projectors can magnify still or moving images depending on how they are built. by using that teaching media the learning methods more varied, not

solely verbal communication by teachers, so students are not saturated and teachers also did not out of energy. Here we will discuss more about the projector with the various advantages and disadvantages as well as the learning process.

I. TYPES OF TEACHING MEDIA

A. Printed Media a) Text books b) Magazines c) Newspapers d) Journals e) Bulletins f) Blogs

They help learners to get more information through reading widely, research and providing more enjoyment from various sources of facts.

B. Visual Media

These make visual impression to the learner. They attract pupils attention and aid concentration, as they illustrate meaning more directly and quickly than through verbal explanation. 1) Flash cards 2) Chalkboard

3) Flannel board 4) Magnetic board 5) Picture cards

C. Visual Media-Projected Visuals, Audio Formats, Video and Computers, Audio-

visual media. 1) Overhead projector 2) Document cameras 3) Slides 4) Digital image projection 5) Video Formats 6) Computers 7) Tape Recorder The sound produced is much easier to understand the facial impressions, gestures, physical background shown and learning becomes doser to real life situation.

In this learning process I will use Digital image projector as a media of learning in the classroom. The reason I chose this media is caused by development of more advanced

period in order to carry out good learning according to their period, besides, Digital image projector can be easier for me in explaining the material to the student, does not need to write first material on the board manually. Media Digital image Projector has several advantages such as student learning will be more attractive, so they can grow the motivation to learn, in addition by using that teaching media the learning methods more varied, not solely verbal communication by teachers, so students are not saturated and teachers also did not out of energy, and students will do more activities, while teachers can better focus as a mediator, facilitator and motivator. The material will be taught by using media Digital image projector is writing descriptive text for 10 grade of senior high school. In these slides I will show definition of descriptive text, generic structure, the functions of descriptive text and pictures of places, people or things; animals, so that students would be much easier to write the descriptive text and the learning process would be run smoothly.

II. WEAKNESSES Some weaknesses in the use of digital media image in learning process are:

Generally, schools have different facilities depending on where the school is located. Sometimes the electricity is not available at this school which located in village areas.

Unwanted visual effects and image distortions are common problems among projectors. For example, some models of LCD projectors produce a "screen door" effect. The screen door effect is the pixilation of the picture due to the low

resolution of the LCD projector; therefore, the lower the resolution of a particular LCD system, the worse the effect is.

If the school is located in the village areas maybe facilities / infrastructure is not adequate.

Pupils focus only on the screen / slide so that they neglect explanations from the teacher.

III. DEVELOPMENT How to overcome the weaknesses of the projector in learning process: Based on this fact, it is necessary to look for other alternatives to innovate and both approaches in the use of media and delivery methods. If the school is already there adequate facilities but the quality of the images on the screen there is the effect of light, then you should do proper maintenance of LCD projectors tends to increase the operating cost. Meanwhile an alternative way to overcome the limitations of electricity at school but want to continue to teach the material in the form of slides, we can print the power point slides into several sheets of paper and then copy it before starting the learning process and share it with each student / group so that the learning process will keep running smoothly. Additionally at the time of giving the material, the teacher should attention and organize her students to enable students understand what is explained, so the learning process may take an active, effective, and fun. Overcome the

limitations of the media in the school should be able to tackle the problem by seeking to provide facilities / infrastructure that is increasingly modern.

IV. STEPS OF USING In the learning process writing descriptive text by using the media of Digital image Projector I'll show a slide that contains about; generic structure of descriptive text, features of descriptive text, function of descriptive text, examples of descriptive text and some of small images that must be described by the students. In the first step I will give a paper leaflet contains descriptive text paragraphs. Then the second I ask all of students to read the paragraph and the paragraph itself recognize the shape of a generic structure, characteristics and functions. During the students read and discuss that paragraphs, I set up a media that will be used in the learning process. Here are the steps for using Projectors: 1. Plug the projector in to a power outlet. Completely plug the power cord in to the back of the projector. 2. Use a VGA cable (usually a 15-pin male to male) to connect your computer to the LCD projector. Insert one end of the cable into the VGA connector (sometimes this connector is blue) in the back of your computer and do the same in the back of your projector. If the projector has more than one VGA connector, choose the one that says something like "line in" or "in from computer."

3. Power on your laptop. Turn on the projector. It may take a couple of minutes to warm up. Open the computer file or document you wish to display. When you are ready to project your image, press "Function" (Fn) plus "F8." This combination of keys sends your computer's display to the projector. 4. Use sound to enhance your presentation. Often projectors have built-in speakers. If this is the case, you may need to run an RGB cable from the projector to the back of your computer. If you wish to use external speakers instead of those that are part of the projector (the built-in speakers are generally of poor quality), plug the speakers directly into the headphone jack of your laptop. 5. Turn off your projector properly. Usually you must press the "off" button once, and a dialog box pops up asking if you are sure you want to turn it off. Press the "off" button again, and the machine powers down. Leave the machine plugged in until the cooling fan stops. Be careful when disconnecting VGA cables from the back of the projector and laptop, as the pins at the end of the cable are delicate. 6. Know some other features of your projector. Most have a focus knob to make the picture clearer. If your image appears distorted (wider on one side than the other or small at the top, big at the bottom) you must adjust the keystone setting, which helps to project a rectangular image. You can fix keystone distortion manually by moving the projector to position it near the center of the screen at which it is aiming.

After the students finished reading the paragraph and identified that paragraph, and then I explain what it is descriptive text completely by using digital image projector. Then

after the students understand the material, I asked students to make the groups and train the ability to write descriptive text paragraph based on command / images on the slides. And the last one I gave the task of writing descriptive text paragraphs in order to student does not forget with the material they have learned.

CONCLUSION based on the results of the discussion can be concluded that the media projector is not very important in the learning process but it is necessary and needs to be held at each school. Although in the teaching there are some weaknesses, but these weaknesses can still be solved, as long as we try to overcome these weaknesses, because professional teachers are teachers who not only mastered the material he teaches, but he also must be able to master the method of learning are required techniques and also follow the development era so they can implement a good learning according to the era. Development of the technology already in front of eyes, and we should process and use it for the benefit his future education of children face. However, school also keep an important role in providing support / contribution for schools with multimedia of learning can go with better and reach the goals effectively. Without a good support of the school, learning to use the media such as projector would just be a dream.

Read and identify the text! THE AMAZING TAJ MAHAL IN INDIA

Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world. It was built by a Muslim Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife at Agra. Taj Mahal is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal. The mausoleum is a part of a vast complex comprising of a main gateway, an elaborate garden, a mosque (to the left), a guest house (to the right), and several other palatial buildings. The Taj is at the farthestend of this complex, with the river Jamuna behind it. The Taj stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four corners truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural design uses the interlocking arabesque concept, in which each element stands on its own and perfectly integrates with the main structure. It uses the principles of self-

replicating geometry and a symmetry of architectural elements. Its central dome is fifty-eight feet in diameter and rises to a height of 213 feet. It is flanked by four subsidiary domed chambers. The four graceful, slender minarets are 162.5 feet each. The central domed chamber and four adjoining chambers include many walls and panels of Islamic decoration.

Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light of the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended when viewed from across the Jamuna river.
