ST. JOHNSBURY ATHENAEUM ANNOUNCES ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN St. Johnsbury, Vermont St. Johnsbury Athenaeum Executive Director, Matthew Powers and the Board of Trustees are pleased to announce Donna Stinehour as part-time Associate Librarian. Stinehour joined the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum in 2012 as a part-time Library Associate. She was the former Library Director for the Davies Memorial Library in Waterford, VT where she managed all aspects of a small, rural library. This included creating programming for the community such as movie nights, childrens story time, summer reading and history meetings. When I joined the Athenaeum, I recognized that there was a great deal of work to do and I made it a priority to become a reliable and valued employee, says Stinehour. As I continue my education to become a Certified Librarian, I look forward to working as a team to create an innovative library that meets the demands of the digital age while preserving a valuable community icon. As an Instructional Assistant for the Special Services department at St. Johnsbury Academy for over ten years, Stinehour worked with a diverse population of learners by assisting teachers as a paraprofessional. Our staff and patrons are very pleased to work with Donna. She brings the experience of working in a rural library and appreciates the role of the Athenaeum within our community. She is a creative thinker who has experience in education and learning, a key focus of our future plans for the Athenaeum. Her enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills will be a welcoming presence in the library, says Matthew Powers, Executive Director.
