Richard Novak, MD
Dr. Novaks research focus is on HIV treatment and vaccines with continuous NIH funding. He has participated in numerous clinical trials, including the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. We are grateful for his tireless commitment to his division. Over the past few months he has been remarkably successful in recruiting 5 new faculty that have expanded divisions missions in teaching, scholarly activity, and patient care. Outside of work, in addition to spending time with his wife and family in the north suburbs, Dr. Novak has a passion for music. Some might call him a Deadhead, as he is an ardent follower of the Grateful Dead. He has a very unique eclectic musical style, including rock, bluegrass, blues, reggae, country, jazz, and psychedelic space rock.
Dr. Novak plays in a band, pictured here playing at Buddy Guys Legends in Chicago.
