2013 Volunteer Managers Network Steering Committee

Members of the Volunteer Managers Network expressed interest in knowing more about the steering committee members and the programs they manage. Below is the list of members: Margaret Prickett - Margaret, Manger of Volunteer Resources is in her tenth year at Catholic Charities Atlanta. Volunteers support all program areas at the agency, with greatest contributions in Refugee Resettlement and Adult Education. Volunteers run Christmas Connections, a giving program which served over eight hundred families in six cities. mprickett@catholiccharitiesatlanta.org Mary Bachman - Mary joined Catholic Charities in 2007 with over 20 years experiences in the nonprofit social service field. As director of the volunteer resources department, Mary manages a team of five people who supports the entire agency in recruiting and retaining volunteers. The department is a centralized department reporting directly to the Vice President of Programs with strong dotted lines to the Human Resources and Development Departments. Prior to Catholic Charities, Mary was Director of Volunteers at Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly in Chicago, Il and Neighborhood Outreach Director with Interfaith for Older Adults in Milwaukee, WI. mary.bachman@cctwincities.org Lyndon Drew - Lyndon has been the Program Director of the Catholic Charities Foster Grandparent Program in Sedgwick County, Kansas since 2000. Foster Grandparents volunteer 15 to 40 hours per week as mentors/tutors in schools and pre-schools. Drew taught public administration, gerontology, and political science at four universities in Illinois, Tennessee, and Kansas before directing the planning and advocacy division of the Kansas Department on Aging in Topeka for ten years. ldrew@catholiccharitieswichita.org Estela Bugg - Estela Reyes-Bugg manages volunteers and interns across Catholic Social Services programs. She is also responsible for staff trainings and representing the agency in the community. Originally from Honduras, Estela is a bilingual, bi-cultural social worker serving at CSS for 17 years. She also spends time advocating for Latinos and other immigrant communities. ebugg@chs-adphila.org Cindy Casey - Cindy Casey has been involved in volunteer management for 20 years working with corporate, non-profit and educational programs. The program she manages at Catholic Charities Fort Worth utilizes more than 2,000 volunteers annually (approximately 43,000 volunteer hours) to address the needs of the agencys 43 programs, 124,000 clients and staff of 300. ccasey@ccdofw.org Carol Spiker Carol Spiker has been managing volunteers for over 20 years. At Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, Carol overseas more than 250 volunteers working a combined 37,000 hours. A natural networker, Carol is a part of the Catholic Charities NJ Conference working with volunteer coordinators in the Garden state. cspiker@cctrenton.org

Lori Williams Lori Williams is the Programs Manager for outreach programs at Catholic Charities of Dubuque and the volunteer manager for the agency. She has been a part of the agency since 2010 and became volunteer manager in 2012. Working to build connections in the community, Lori's focus is to bring the community into the programs by utilizing community members to assist other community members. Lori also has experience working with disaster volunteers and coordinating disaster services. DBQCCCPS@arch.pvt.k12.ia.us Matthew Price - Matthew has been the Catholic Charities USA staff liaison to the Volunteer Managers Network since 2011. In addition to working with Volunteer Managers, Matthew runs a national mentoring program for at-risk youth.
