Dorothy O'Connor, CPDT-KA is a Certified Professional

Dog Trainer and behavior counselor and is the founder of Canine Concepts, a dog training business south of Boston, MA. She graduated with honors from Jean Donaldson's Academy for Dog Trainers, and spends the majority of her time helping families and individuals gain a better understanding of their dogs, approaching both with compassion and reward based training techniques. She regularly works with specific behavior problems, offers a variety of pet dog training classes, and volunteers at area animal shelters performing behavior evaluations, developing behavior modification programs, and advising other volunteers and prospective adopters about dog behavior and training. Her main source of accomplishment and happiness is derived from witnessing the transformation of the dog/human relationship into one of trust, understanding, and joy as the communication improves between the two ends of the leash. She continually seeks to stay abreast of the latest developments and scientific advances in animal behavior, learning theory, and teaching, and to that end, attends many seminars. She is currently advancing her knowledge under Suzanne Clothier. Dorothy feels that her best teachers are always the dogs, and each one has valuable lessons to teach us.
