Home School Softball Registration 2013 PLEASE READ ENTIRE REGISTRATION!

Hello Everyone, It is time for homeschoolers to register in order to participate in this year's softball league. You may obtain a registration form in one of five ways: 1. Pick up a registration form at the February Sheep meeting and mail it in. 2. Pick up a registration form at tumbling and mail it in. (It will be your responsibility to pick up all four pages of the softball information. They will be provided. (Please make sure you leave with all four sheets.) 3. Use the attachment to this letter as your registration - print it off and mail it in. 4. Ask a friend to pick one up for you! 5. Send a SASE (Self-addressed STAMPED envelope) and a registration form will be sent to you. Print this off for future reference: NOTE: PLEASE READ ENTIRE REGISTRATION Registration Dates: January 30 through March 16. ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 16. Game location: Goodrell Middle School, 3300 E. 29th Street, Des Moines, IA 50317. This school is located just off of Euclid. (PLEASE NOTE THE ADDRESS CHANGE.) Game dates: 8 weeks of games, Tuesday nights, April 16 through June 4. Our last game is slated Saturday, June 8th (this will include our final games and family picnic). Notice will be given later in the season if this date needs to be changed. Practices: Coaches will call their individual team members before April 9th and let them know the times and locations of their teams practice sessions. Coaches may schedule one or more practices. The coach of each individual team will contact you with that information sometime prior to April 9th. League Divisions: (Age of child is based upon age at first game, April 16) Minors: 6 - 8 year olds (there will be no t-ball, pitched balls only) (72 openings, 6 teams) Majors: 9 - 12 year olds (72 openings, 6 teams) Teens: 13 18 (72 youth openings, 6 teams). Team Openings: Team openings will be filled based upon a first come first serve basis. There is no guarantee that because you register by March 16th you will receive a place on a team. Please register early to be sure there is a place for your child/children on a team. There will be 12 players assigned to each team. Our hope is to have 6 minor teams, 6 major teams, and 6 teen teams. However, the number of fathers that volunteer to coach will determine the number of teams we will have. If all team openings are filled before the registration deadline, a waiting list will be started. There will be no team/coach preferences allowed for any player in the league. Coach's children will automatically be placed on his team depending on age appropriateness. Registrations are not considered final until complete payment is received! We are still looking for coaches for minor, major and teen teams! Is the father available to coach this year? Minor Major Teen (please circle). Father will be called if chosen to coach. All fathers are strongly encouraged to participate. WE WANT ALL FATHERS TO BE AN IMPORTANT PART OF HOMESCHOOL SOFTBALL. Fees: Players 6-12 (Minors and Majors) $14.00. This is a $6.00 registration fee and a $8.00 T-shirt fee. Player 13-18 (Teens) $6.00. Teens do not normally order T-shirts. If a teen wants a Tshirt they may order one using the order form attached. They must send the $8.00 T-shirt fee with this registration form. No Later, No Exceptions Coaches: Please order your T-shirt on the attached order form. Please designate size. If a parent would like to order a T-shirt, please order on the attached form and designate size. There is no charge for coaches T-shirts. Liability Waiver:
I understand that as a parent/guardian, I have an obligation to support the coaches and softball policies. I give permission for my child to take part in the Home school Softball League for the year 2013. I absolve Central Iowa Homeschool Softball and the softball coaches from all liability in the event my child/children are injured while participating in all softball and softball related activities, including the grounds/building, etc. I assume all responsibility for my child/childrens safety, well-being, and behavior while they are participating in softball and all softball related activities with the Home school Softball League. I understand that the parents and players are restricted to the playing field, and the parking lot during their times of play for all of the 2013 softball season. I understand that failure to comply with this rule may result in dismissal from playing with the league for the rest of the 2013 season.
