1 Denition
The feature Reverse Charging at Setup Time (RCST) allows a calling subscriber to set up a call for which the called subscriber is to accept the charges. A reverse charge call is introduced by a special access code. The called subscriber can agree to pay for the call or decline to accept it.

2 Mode of operation
In order to use the feature Reverse Charging at Setup Time (RCST) the calling subscriber first dials the feature access code or presses a function key. Then he or she dials the number of the desired subscriber. If the called subscriber is willing to accept the charges, the call is switched through and the calling ISDN subscriber sees appropriate confirmation on the terminal display field. An analog subscriber is not sent special confirmation: through-connection of the call confirms reverse charging. For the calling party the call is then free of charge. If the called party is not willing to accept the reverse charge call, or if the network node does not support reverse charging, the calling subscriber is informed via the display that the call has not been accepted. It is also possible for an announcement to be applied (for example: requested feature not accepted). If an analog subscriber declines to accept a reverse charge call, the call is likewise released. When the called subscriber has confirmed that he or she will accept the reverse charge call, the charges are recorded as if the called party had set up the call. With the feature AOC it is possible to have the charges shown on the terminal display. Capacity The percentages indicate the number of authorized subscribers for the feature within the network node and their simultaneous application. 3 Subscriber controlled input

The feature can be administrated by subscriber controlled input. For the subscriber procedure, see: Analog subscriber ISDN subscriber GeoCENTREX Analog subscriber ISDN subscriber Subscriber controlled input functions Signaling method Analog Pulse Activate Deactivate Enter data Delete data Enter data and activate Delete data and deactivate Activate with/without data Feature use Interrogate state Interrogate data Interrogate state with/without data Access code The access code for subscriber controlled input consists of a maximum of 6 characters or, for GeoCENTREX subscribers, a maximum of 5 characters. It can be formed from the symbols 5 , # and the service code (SC) with the digits 0 to 9. The operator can specify the character strings for the access code. Differences for pulse dialing The selected digits are not obligatory; other digits can be input (depending on the existing numbering plan). 1111 at the beginning of an input in place of 5 1112 at the beginning of an input in place of # 1113 at the beginning of an input in place of 5 # 5 as a disconnecting signal after the service code, not relevant # after the subscriber controlled input, not relevant ----------------------DTMF --------------X ------ISDN Keypad --------------X ------Funct. --------------X -------

4 Call charge registration

A reverse charge call is charged using the directory number of the calling subscriber according to the tariff (zone) of the called network node. (Reverse charging is only possible if the calling subscribers zone is administrated in the called network node. Particular attention must be paid to the own network node.) Charge metering at the called subscribers end starts when the call begins. The calling subscriber is given the status no charge. The following data record types are supported in the case of reverse charging: AMA DEB pulse metering

Call charge registration is possible with: Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration Pulse Metering Message Detail Recording (MDR) for GeoCENTREX Flat rate Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) and pulse metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated for pulse metering. Charges for feature input and feature usage The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and feature usage are assigned to the subscriber. The following call charge registration is possible: Facility input by operator (FAIO) Facility input by subscriber (FAIS) Facility usage (FAU) Action Activate Deactivate Enter data Delete data Assign authorization Remove authorization Assign authorization to modify Remove authorization to modify Request state, data Use Call charges for connections Call charges for connections are assigned as follows: The called subscriber pays the call charges after conrmation of reverse charging. 5 Administration
The operator can perform all administration functions on the NetManager by means of user-friendly applications or MML commands. Feature authorization The network operator assigns authorization for the feature when requested by the subscriber. Subscriber access types The feature can be used with the following types of subscriber access:
