Planning Aim : For Ss to prepare an oral report of their task

in the text. 5. Point out that proper nouns begin with the capital letters.

My classmate, Clement had a nasty accident yesterday. He was cycling from his house to the Jaya Supermarket. Suddenly, a Honda Civic came out of nowhere and hit him from behind. The driver was a lady. She came out from her car and called the ambulance immediately. She panicked and checked to make sure that Clement was fine. A few minutes later, the place was crowded with people. The lady, Miss Elaine called Clements parents to inform them about the accident. When the ambulance arrived, Clement was taken to Hospital Kota Sentosa at once. Mr. Siman reached the hospital later and he breathed a sigh of relief to learn from Dr. Brandon that his son suffered only minor injuries. Sandy, Taufiq, Imelda and I plan to visit Clement today at his house in Taman Megah. Our teacher, Mr. Razali will drive us there. We made a special card for him and bought him a bouquet of flowers from Lovely Gifts Shop to cheer him up. (P/S : Accept if Ss underline the abstract nouns, but do not stress on it here) ________________________________________________________________________________________ Language practice Aim : To give the students some restricted written practice in the target language.

1. Play a listening text and ask Ss to fill in the blanks with the words they hear (text can be found on

page 104, English Form 1 textbook) - the words are all NOUNS. 2. Repeat the listening text if needed. 3. Ask Ss to check their answers with each other. ___________________________________________________________________________ Optional follow-up Aim : For Ss to construct sentences using the nouns given.

1. Ask Ss to work with a partner.

2. Tell them to make sentences using the words given (proper & common nouns).

3. Once they have finished, ask them to check and compare their answers. 4. Call out a student randomly to read out his/her sentence. 5. Use this time to focus on accuracy, i.e. correct what they say if they make mistakes using the target language.
