Engine identification This manual may refer to engine types other than in your model. Therefore, be sure to follow only the instructions that apply to the engine in your particular model. Each section is separated by an easily visible dividing page followed by the job index page. The first page of a typical job description looks like this: 83-028 Control system 1 Job title appears on same line as Group No.

Data and part numbers Technical data, tightening torques and tools are listed at the beginning of each job. All dimensions are in metric units, unless otherwise indicated. Any part numbers given are only used for identification and easier diff erentation between individual components and are not intended for ordering purposes. When procuring parts from your MB Dealer Parts Department, be sure to specify engine and chassis number (refer to Vehicle Identification Number Location).
