Things to Make: Crocheted Shamrock Garland Pattern

I loved the way my little crocheted heart garland turned out, and thought Id try my hand at adding a little St. Patricks Day Flair to my decor this month! I used a pattern I found on Crochet Pattern Central, and modified it a bit! I love the way it turned out, so I thought Id share! Here ya go! Materials Needed: Size I crochet hook Small amount of any green worsted weight yarn Abbreviations: ch = chain st = stitch dc = double crochet trc = treble crochet sl st = slip stitch hdc = half-double crochet rem = remaining

Start: ch 3, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a loop. For Leaf Petals: {ch 3, 1 trc, 1 dc, 1 trc, ch 3, sl st into loop} repeat 3 times total. For Stem: ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st rem ch sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ch 25, 1 sc in top of shamrock, ch 10, repeat until all shamrocks are joined, end with 25 ch. Fasten off.

You can also make a four-leaf-clover, by altering the original pattern, like this: Start: ch 5, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a loop. For Leaf Petals: {ch 3, 1 trc, 1 dc, 1 trc, ch 3, slip stitch into loop} repeat 4 times total. For Stem: ch 5, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in rem ch sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

On my little garland I alternated between light green and kelly green...I LOVE the way it turned out!! I don't usually post pictures of my fireplace mantle, because the parlor is quite dark...so please forgive the glares from the windows on the mirror!!
