11i Extend Oracle Applications: Customizing OA Framework Applications

What you will learn

OA Framework pages are J2EE-based applications that access an 11.5.10 eBusiness Suite instance. There is a tremendous amount of power in the J2EE programming patterns supported by OA Framework pages. Much of that power requires the ability to program in Java. BUT! there is still is significant component of OA Framework pages that requires no or little programming. And exploring those capabilities is the purpose of this course.In Part 1 of the course, the students will explore the powerful capability known as Personalizations, which offers the means to change OA Framework pages without programming. In Part 2 of the course, the students will explore how to deploy these personalizations and other OA Framework objects into a production instance. And, in Part 3, the students will explore the simpler OA Framework programming method called Extensions.

What you will learn

This class is a hands-on lab-intensive course that will keep the student busy and active for the duration of the course. While the course covers the fundamentals that support OA Framework-based applications, the course is really an exercise in J2EE programming. Over the duration of the course, the student will create an OA Framework-based application that selects, inserts, updates, and deletes data from a 11i Oracle Applications instance. Learn to:
