Pre requisite CE-342 Transportation Engineering-II Course Objectives Pavement is a major component of the multi-modal transportation system. Transportation agencies have a large interest in maximizing the value of this public investment. This course provides solid working knowledge of the continuously evolving science and technology of pavement design, construction, maintenance, and preservation. Both basic theory and best practices are covered. Students also gain a view of state-of-the-art pavement technologies, while addressing the reality of implementing best practices in the field. This course covers the methods and procedures to address the issues in pavement design, construction, and performance for new construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation (e.g., road widening) pavement projects.
