Hydrosol ( Floral Water)


Hydrosols, also called oral water or distillates, were once considered to be simply a by product of the distillation of essential oils. Now they are becoming a staple ingredient in the skin care industry.

French Green Clay

(Also known as illite clay or sea clay) - Is very absorbent and literally "drinks" oils, toxic substances and impurities from your skin. - Is a bio-mineral and contains decomposed plant matter, as well as many trace minerals. - Is marvelous for helping to clear problem skin areas.

Facial Masks for Oily & Dry Skin


1. Mix clay with herbal powders and ower waters (hydrosols) into a smooth paste. Herbs for Oily and Problem Complexions: lavender, linden owers, peppermint leaf, dandelion, burdock, calendula, echinacea, nettle leaf, rosemary leaf, sage leaf, horsetail. Herbs for Dry and Mature Complexions: Red clover, chamomile owers, rose owers, marshmallow, orange blossoms, comfrey, horsetail. 

Basic Clay Mask for Aging Skin:

- 1/4 tsp of powdered red clover blossoms - 1/4 tspof powdered chamomile owers - Mix with 2 teaspoons of white clay - Add 1/2 tsp of sea buckthorn oil Combine with enough rose hydrosol (ower water) to make a paste.

Herbal Infusions:
To make herbal infusions, you extract the avors, aromas, oils and other constituents of herbs by steeping them in boiling hot water.

Directions:

-Add a tablespoon of fresh herbs or a 1/2 tablespoon of dried herbs to 1 cup of pure spring or ltered water in a ceramic or stainless steel teapot. -Bring the water and herbs to a boil, then immediately remove from the heat. -To infuse herbs, cover the pot and let steep 10 minutes for dried herbs, 5 minutes for fresh herbs. -Strain and discard the leaves and retain the hot herbal infusion. Cool and use immediately, or store in the refrigerator for up to a day.

Simple Detoxifying Mask:


-1/4 of teaspoon of turmeric  -1 teaspoon of green clay -1 teaspoon water.  Turmeric kills bacteria and reduces inammation, while the green clay absorbs oils and toxins. Please note: The tradition of drinking hot herbal tea also helps to release toxins. Cleansing can start by simply drinking herbal teas that include licorice, yellow dock and dandelion root.
