Movie Night
The Year of Faith Movie Night takes place this weekend Saturday, nd February. 2 . The movie, The Jewellers Shop starts at 7:00 pm. Based on Karol Wojtyla - Pope John Paul II's best-selling play, the movie tells of the struggles and triumphs of love.

Pancake Tuesday
Mardi Gras Please join the ShareLife Committee, along with fellow parishioners and neighbours-in the Parish Hall for Pancake Tuesday. Continuous Buffet service from 5 pm to 7pm. with a menu that includes pancakes, sausage, syrup, plus coffee tea or orange juice. Tickets are only $5. There is a 50/50 Draw with all proceeds to the 2013 OLS ShareLife Campaign. Tickets are available at the back of the church after all Sunday Masses and also at the office. Volunteers: Cooks, Servers & Helpers are needed for this event from 3pm until 8pm. New Beginnings
For those who have lost a loved one through Death, Separation or Divorce, an informative evening with Brother Ignatius Feaver, OFM. Cap. Brother Ignatius has a great deal of experience in the spiritual life and teaches at Regis College. The Topic will be "St. Francis' Cantile of Creation as Healing in Our Lives Join on Feb. 5th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Archdiocese of Toronto Pastoral Centre - 1155 Yonge St., 4th Floor, Toronto. Archdiocese of Toronto
Pastoral Plan Launch Cardinal Thomas Collins has promulgated the Pastoral Plan of the Archdiocese of Toronto. To coincide with the launch of the plan, this weekend we are distributing a summary of the document, an important resource that will help guide our faith journey for years to come. All Catholics are encouraged to pray and discern how each one of us can contribute to the overall goals of the plan, living a faith that acts in all that we do. Vatican II Series
February 27th March 6th and March 13th The Parish of St. John the Evangelist is offering a series on Vatican II as a celebration of our 160th anniversary as a Catholic Community of faith, and their 100th anniversary as a parish, during the Year of Faith. Presented by Dr. Michael Attridge of the University of St. Michaels College, talks will be presented from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the church. The session topics will be as follows: Major Issues at Vatican II, Vatican II and Church Development, and Challenges of Living Vatican II Today. All are welcome to attend.
