First Eucharist Catechetical Sessions

Parents may choose one of the following two information and instructional sessions taking place on the following dates: Sunday, February 3rd (2 pm 3 pm)

Wednesday, February 6th (7:30 pm 8:30 pm) Parish catechists will lead parents in a brief reflection on the theology of the Eucharist.

February 9th/10th Candidates will be called upon to present their promise form and letter of intent to Fr. Nino after the homily at any of the regular Masses.

Stretch & Flex Class

As one ages, muscles tighten and have less range of motion in joints. A regular stretching program may help lengthen muscles and make daily activities easier and more enjoyable. Join Tuesdays from 6:30 pm 7:30 pm in the church hall. $10/Class.

Pancake Tuesday
Mardi Gras Please join the ShareLife Committee, along with fellow parishioners and neighbours-in the Parish Hall for Pancake Tuesday. Continuous Buffet service from 5 pm to 7pm. with a menu that includes pancakes, sausage, syrup, plus coffee tea or orange juice. Tickets are only $5. There is a 50/50 Draw with all proceeds to the 2013 OLS ShareLife Campaign. Tickets are available at the back of the church after all Sunday Masses and also at the office. Volunteers: Cooks, Servers & Helpers are needed for this event from 3pm until 8pm. New Beginnings
For those who have lost a loved one through Death, Separation or Divorce, an informative evening with Brother Ignatius Feaver, OFM. Cap. Brother Ignatius has a great deal of experience in the spiritual life and teaches at Regis College. The Topic will be "St. Francis' Cantile of Creation as Healing in Our Lives Join on Feb. 5th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Archdiocese of Toronto Pastoral Centre - 1155 Yonge St., 4th Floor, Toronto. World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life

Saturday, February 2nd the Church celebrates the World day of Prayer for Consecrated Life. In the Archdiocese of Toronto we are blessed to have living and serving among us more than 1,000 religious men and women of over 100 different religious congregations. This World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank God for the gifts of these religious sisters, brothers and priests and to pray for Gods blessing upon them in their efforts to faithfully live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience. All are welcome to come to a special Mass this Sunday, February 3rd at 3:00 pm at St. Pauls Basilica, Toronto to celebrate with and pray for these men and women religious who are such a vital and important part of the life and ministry of the Church in our Archdiocese.

Vatican II Series
February 27th March 6th and March 13th The Parish of St. John the Evangelist is offering a series on Vatican II as a celebration of our 160th anniversary as a Catholic Community of faith, and their 100th anniversary as a parish, during the Year of Faith. Presented by Dr. Michael Attridge of the University of St. Michaels College, talks will be presented from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the church.
