Worksheet #4 2. Coca Cola is already ahead of the rest of their competitors in the beverage industry. However, there are a few things Coca Cola needs to do to gain and maintain their competitive advantage. This process begins with turning their weaknesses into strengths such as taking their weakness of beverages supply being restricted to few countries and actually fixing it by moving there company into other countries which is also an opportunity. Opportunities are another way for Coca Cola to gain competitive advantages like taking over competitors, and launching energy and sports drinks into Europe. Finally to maintain and grain competitive advantage Coca cola needs to minimize the threats to their company, like consumers health problems and competition with Pepsi. The process of making their products healthier and finding ways to out sell Pepsi should be a constant concern. 3. In the 1920s and 1930s the company first started to expand globally in France, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Belgium, Italy, Peru, Spain, Australia and South Africa. Today, Coca-Cola has expanded in over 200 countries. Coca-Cola is still expanding its operation globally. Currently, it is expanding internationally in China and Russia. Coca-Colas strong investment into these countries has been a success to the company and to the countries. Each plant built will make additional jobs for the citizens. 4. Coca-Cola is extremely innovative. This company takes risks daily. Many ideas it pursues is a success. Coca- Cola has more than 500 brands and 3,500 beverage products in over 200 countries. Some of the new products this company has launched are: - Bevariety beverage dispenser, 12 brands and multiple flavors shot options that total more than 50 drink combinations - Gold Peak variety tea dispenser, which offers four different tea flavors - Juan Valdez cafREALE system, which is fresh cups of Columbian coffee with no brewing required - Minute Maid juice- two and four valve juice dispenser Coca-Cola is launching new products and services all the time. It reaches out to disasters around the world. Coca-Cola has sustainable packaging, pursues active healthy living, great social opportunities, energy efficient and climate protection, water stewardship, and creates a safe and healthy work place.
