University Student Personal Possessions Insurance

Anything can happen while you are away at university, from lost door keys to a stolen computer or mobile phone. SFS University Insurance helps to ease the financial burden that these incidents may cause by covering student personal possessions both on and off campus. Overview A comprehensive, all risks annual policy covering all your possessions in your room at college or in rented accommodation; at your permanent home address; on the journey to and from college in a train or car; plus those things that you would normally carry around with you. You are insured against them being damaged in a fire, flood, or other natural calamity, or if they are accidentally damaged or stolen.

How much am I insured for?

We believe that 3,000 should cover most students. However if you have any individual items valued at over 500 you must specify them on the application form. These might include expensive sports or musical kit, a top-end ipod or other music system, or a bike (for a small additional premium). Although the policy does cover one laptop and one mobile phone, again you must specify them on the application form. If you don't we cannot cover them.
