Sub code: 10MBA48 III MBA students are directed to follow the guidelines as given below. i) The project work shall be on a topic in the area of specialization specified and elected by the student. Period of the study for summer project should be exactly 10 weeks. The date of commencement of the project will be 17th December 2012. The last date for the submission of Zero Review Form: on or before 14th December 2012, along with the permission letter from the organization. The ZRF shall contain:
i. ii. iii. iv. Name & Complete address of the organization The project period from 17/12/2012 to 23/02/2013 (tentatively) and Other details shall contain as per ZRF. Research plan should be submitted along with ZRF (Weekly plan)

The student should down load the Zero Review Form from the web (www.pes.edu/pesse) and send it by Courier / email to Ravi Urs, Faculty Member of our Department who is the Project Coordinator (raviurs@pes.edu) directly within 3 days and forward the same to the concerned guide. As per the Committee decision, for every day of delay in submitting the Zero Review Form, 2 marks will be deducted from the IA marks. No submission of ZRF will be accepted after 17th December, 2012. If a student fails to submit ZRF before the mentioned date he/she cannot participate in the project. The students should compulsorily attend all the review meetings as per the following schedule.
First review will be conducted on 07th January 2013. Second review will be conducted on 28th January 2013. Final Review will be conducted on 11th February 2013. Date of submission of the draft final report will be 23rd February 2013. Submission of Final Report (4 copies as per VTU norms) will be 11th March 2013.

The report along with certificate should be submitted to the Department on the day of submission of the report. Students are requested to submit a copy of the certificate received from organization to the Project Co-ordinator (before binding). The certificate shall contain:
i. Name & address of the organization (Letter Head) ii. Name of the student with US number. iii. The project period from 17/12/2012 to 23/02/2013. (only 10 weeks)

3. McKinsey 7S frame work with special reference to organization under study (Max: 7 pages) Note: 1 page (including Diagram) summary of Theory behind 7S model and application of the model in the organisation. Structure: a. Overall organizational structural details Board of Directors/Functional heads etc. b. Sub structure detailing with each functional discipline detailed study of various departments & their function. Skill: a. Classification of skill/or study of skill matrix. Detail the steps taken to impart necessary skills-on the job/off the job training. Style: a. Top down / Bottom up b. Authoritarian / participative Any one decision making parameters should be studied pertaining to day to-day operation, to conclude the style of functioning. Strategy: Any one strategy adopted by the company should be considered to explain, How it is implemented e.g pricing/waste elimination etc. System: E.g- inventory control system / order execution system / Merit rating system etc. Staff: Classification / duties and responsibility of various groups of staff e.g Technical / Supervisory / Clerical. Shared Value: Study of implementing shared value in the company by an illustration, where company has implemented its stated objective.
4. SWOT Analysis of the company (Each point should be explained with application) (Max: 4 pages)

Analyse briefly the following ratios: Liquidity, Profitability, Solvency, Debt Equity and Return on Investment.
6. Learning experience gained by the candidate during in plant training. (Max: 2 pages)

BIBLIOGRAPHY (Max: 1 pages) The bibliographical note for Periodicals / Journals, Books, Reports, Thesis is different in presentation and complete details of the reference must be given in order. Cover page: The outer cover should contain all the details on the Title page of the project. The report shall be hard bound facing sheet (only Royal Blue colour) indicating the title of college and month & year of admission (Spiral binding not permitted). So it is advisable to follow the approved format by Project Co-ordinator. Paper Size & Quality: When the final draft is prepared it should be printed on A-4 Executive Bond paper and The page set-up should be Left margin 1.5, Top margin, Right and Bottom margin 1. Font Size: While using the Font for the body text, it should be Times New Roman 12. Paragraph Space: The project body text should have sufficient space i.e., 1.5-line space for each and every paragraph must be provided. Headings: While using the headings & subheadings, appropriate distinction should be given. For example, if the main heading is in bold capital letters, the sub headings may be bold, italic and under scored. Use of tables: Tables should all be numbered, properly titled and placed before the discussion. On no account, the tables should be split.
Diagrams: As regards graphs or diagrams, they should be neatly drawn either with Black Indian Ink or Computer printed (either black & white or colour). But the graphs or diagrams should fit in A-4 size paper. Each figure should be numbered and titled.
