OVERVIEW
The Focus on AIDS Foundation is pleased to announce the Focus on AIDS 13 Benefit Auction
taking place May 1, 2009 in Los Angeles. FOA is America's largest and most prestigious auction
of rare, vintage and contemporary photographs in support of AIDS research, care & education.

Since its inception in 1987, The Focus on AIDS auctions have raised over $3 million dollars for
leading AIDS charities worldwide. Our not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization is completely volunteer
driven and relies totally on the generosity, and resources of the photo community. Our auctions
benefit children’s hospitals and shelters we helped found and build in India and Tanzania.
Additional funding goes to global AIDS charities with proven records for outstanding research,
education, and rehabilitation.

Focus on AIDS 13 offers both serious art collectors and affluent photography lovers a chance to
view and bid the most celebrated and cutting-edge photography through live and “silent”
auctions at an event that is renown for its sophisticated elegance and essential good will. More
importantly, the auction offers meaningful relief to children and adults suffering from a
preventable global pandemic.

Our logo was created by Keith Haring specifically for our first auction. We still use it today in his
honor, to remember the early days of HIV/AIDS, and to remind ourselves how far we’ve come
and how far we have to go. Please join us in making this our most successful year ever. Your
donations and purchases of outstanding photography have a tangible effect on those in need.

THANK YOU!
