COMMUNITY CUP PROGRAM 2013 North Idaho Fair & Rodeo

PURPOSE The overall purpose of the Community Cup Program is to provide an opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to earn income by volunteering as servers for the fairs beverage services department. OVERVIEW Each organization selected to participate in the program will provide a set number of volunteers (age 21 and over) to operate and serve at two of the four main beverage (beer, wine, soda, energy drink and water) areas at the fair. Depending on the interest level in the community, organizations may have only one shift or the potential of several. The organization will benefit by keeping all tips and will receive $1 for each draft beer that is sold during their shift. These are high volume sales locations so the earning potential is significant and all selected organizations get their logo featured on the cups, providing substantial exposure to the fairs 70,000 attendees. Organizations will have one 8 table and space to hang a banner (no larger than 8) to put out informational materials about the purpose, mission and activities of the group. No sales of any kind (raffles, products, memberships) can occur at this location. Drawings may be allowed upon approval by fair management. All organizations are guaranteed a minimum payout of $500 per day. IMPORTANT DATES April 5 Community Cup Program Applications due at Fairgrounds Administrative Office May 1 Organizations will be notified who have been selected to participate in the program May 15 High quality jpg or eps logos for each organization must be turned into the Fairgrounds Administrative Office June 1 2 team leaders for each organization must attend a 1 hour informational session at the Fairgrounds July 23 or 27 2 team leaders and 4 additional lead servers must attend alcohol server training at the Fairgrounds August 7 A complete roster of volunteers must be turned into the Fairgrounds Administrative Office August 21 through 25 North Idaho Fair & Rodeo September 11 Payouts made to organizations COMMITMENT The Fairgrounds has four main beverage service locations and each organization will staff two of these during a one day shift. Since they have varied sales volume for each location, the volunteer needs will be different. Sunday hours of operation will vary from this schedule. Main Stage & Blue Gate 2 team leaders for the duration of service hours (2 PM 11:30 PM), 2 lead opening servers and 2 additional helpers (2 PM 7 PM), 2 lead closing servers and 2 additional closing helpers (6:30 PM 11:30 PM). Grandstands (Upper & Lower Levels) 2 team leaders for the duration of service hours (2 PM 11:30 PM), 4 lead opening servers and 3 additional helpers (2 PM 7 PM), 4 lead closing servers and 3 additional closing helpers (6:30 PM 11:30 PM). All volunteers must arrive on time for their scheduled shift, must wear official fair shirt during service (provided) and any additional identification deemed necessary by fair management. Organizations are expected to enforce age verification procedures and all service guidelines protecting the safety of fair patrons. Fair management reserves the right to monitor all aspects of beverage service, including financial transactions through in-person verification or video surveillance.
