Christian Practice - Do Not Let Your Left Hand Know What Your Right Hand Is Doing!

Christmas 2012 in Hong Kong Alone in Deep Spiritual Thought at North Point Community Park Say, Today is Wednesday 6/2/13. I have just started typing the following from notes I have made in my diary, when I was deep in spiritual thought, back on Christmas Day 2012 in Hong Kong recently. It is very early in the morning. I am in Hong Kong this Christmas 2012. In a sense I am all alone. I am not at church but in the local park. There are other people in the park doing their tai-chi and things. There is no Catholic church in the neighbourhood. So I thought I would just attend church al fresco and et solo. Jo and Sayang are still asleep at my sister-in-laws tiny flat nearby, 10 minutes walk away. I have been sleeping on the concrete floor which is rather uncomfortable, but at least I have had a free place to sleep in expensive Hong Kong. What a contrast to the luxurious apartment that I used to reside in, in Hong Kong. I am thinking about God and who, he or she or it is. When we say the word GOD or read the word GOD, it is only a word or a label in the English language. English is only one of many human languages. It is a worldly language. It is not a spirit language. I do not know what Gods language is. I know that God is not of this world. God is Spirit! In the old bibles, it was understood that GOD was beyond human imagination. That is why in the older version of the St. John Gospel we have the expression In the beginning there was the WORD [representing the indescribable] and the word was made GOD. In even older versions instead of word the term logos was used. Logos is from where we derive the word logic. Because we are worldly humans with an ego we like to think that we are logical. But logos actually relates to consciousness. We like to think however that consciousness relates to or gives rise to logic. But consciousness as I have discovered and will explain is tainted when it is tainted by self-consciousness. Spirit consciousness should be selfless. Otherwise it can never be eternal. To be permanent and eternal consciousness should not fluctuate, waver or change or be temperamental. So logic or knowledge has nothing to do with eternal consciousness. Spirit consciousness is like that. Accordingly, spiritual wisdom is not the same as worldly wisdom. Spiritual wisdom is like eternal wisdom. It is constant and permanent and cannot change. I suggest that if we think, see or read the word GOD, as if GOD can be humanly or worldly defined, whether as a unit or person or as a self or an ego, we will be making a most fundamental error. God is Spirit and therefore beyond worldly definition! When we think spiritually, we must not think logically, with worldly wisdom, as worldly humans; we must think with spiritual consciousness, with spiritual wisdom. The ultimate truth is that GOD is infinite Spirit Consciousness. When we are reborn in the spirit we are reborn in our spiritual consciousness (which is quite apart and separate from our worldly consciousness). When we are spiritually conscious of God in our spirit, Gods infinite Spirit Consciousness is conscious of us. It is in this sense that the kingdom of God is within us that God is 1

within us; that we are in Holy Trinity, the Father and Son [and sons] in the Spirit. In Holy Trinity there is no self-consciousness. Infinite Spirit Consciousness has no self or ego! It is non- discriminating and equanimous. In spiritual salvation, in the journey home of the Prodigal Son, our reborn spiritual consciousness loses its worldly false self-ego to the Infinite Spirit Consciousness. The Son of Adam in the son of man loses his Original Sin of Adam, that of having acquired a self-consciousness of false self-ego, that led to the Fall of Adam. The Prodigal Son is no longer lost in the mortal human world, when we are reborn in the spirit. This is why Jesus said that He (as a Spirit) is not of this world but we (as sons of man) are of this world. Just like what Jesus said that in true charity or generosity the left hand does not know what the right hand does; in our belief or faith in God the Spirit, we should not let the left hand know what the right hand does [See Matthew 6:3]. Our Christian faith and belief should be with our egoless spirit consciousness and not with our worldly false self-ego human consciousness. In the true charity of giving, of humility and selflessness in spirit consciousness, there is none of these worldly self-awareness or consciousness of a self, of a giver, or of a gift or the pleasure of a recipient benefiting from the gift. Imagine a spontaneous auto-drive giving in the sense as if there is nobody giving nothing to nobody; just simply anonymous in all aspect and perspective. Nothing is said or is recognised or is accounted or recorded or merited. When we are at one in the Holy Trinity in our spirit consciousness, when we are egoless, we will see Jesus in every poor, every sick, and every hungry and thirsty; whether black, white or green, or Buddhist, Hindu, Moslem or Atheist. Jesus and God are in all of us in the Holy Trinity. When we are egoless, when we are not in the picture then we will see the picture, we can see the trees from the forest. The Holy Trinity is not really a trinity. It is just conveniently called a trinity as such. In the formlessness of the Spirit, there are no separate discrete numbers or forms. You cannot count air as such! Jesus said that the Father is in Him, just as He is in the Father, and that we may be one with Them in the spirit. In the same ocean it would be futile counting or distinguishing the eaves from one another. So the Parables of Jesus, the Gospels, the Bible and even Jesus as the Son of Man (as distinct from Jesus being the Son of God) should not be taken, seen or read with worldly self-awareness or worldly wisdom and cognition or consciousness with a worldly false self-ego. There is nothing of worldly or human matter or form or phenomenon in Spirit Heaven. So when we take up our cross on the way up Jacobs Ladder [See John 1:51], our spirit consciousness should have no ego or self, nor should there be an awareness of or desire for achieving anything as a reward; nor should we dwell on the fact that Jesus took human birth and died as a human on the cross. Jesus as Spirit Consciousness was never born and never died. In that sense there was therefore no spirit resurrection from a worldly or human form. It is only so called a resurrection, from a human or worldly perspective. An eternal spirit has no need to be born or die or resurrected. Jesus as a human, as the Son of Man was just an historical worldly phenomenon, as a convenient vehicle to guide us back to the other shore, to the spirit place, to our spirit consciousness.

Jesus as Spirit Consciousness is not in the Bible as a book or a separate ego or human personality. Jesus as Spirit Consciousness eternally and pervasively permeates and is omnipresent in all dimensions of time and space. There is no beginning or end as to Jesus as Spirit Consciousness. Jesus as Spirit Consciousness is in every one of us! In fact Jesus is in Abraham, in Elijah, in John the Baptist, in Mohammed, in Buddha, in Guru Nanak, in the Saints, in all messengers of love and compassion, and peace and goodwill. In the Spirit all is one and one is all! In the spirit we have all been one and one is all, eternally with Jesus since the no beginning and till the no end. Take careful note. It is our spirit consciousness that is conscious of God and God as infinite Spirit Consciousness is conscious of us. Humans can never communicate with spirits directly unless they are spiritually charged or reborn. We have to be baptised in the spirit! It is in that sense that we must pray in secret i.e. in the spirit, and not with our worldly mouth or mind; and that is why God know the things that we need before we ask Him. In Holy Trinity God know and is one and all with us in our inner spirit consciousness. Knowing God or God knowing you has nothing to do with worldly rituals, whether it is the reading of the Bible, church attendance or getting baptised as matter of Christian manner and form. It has to do with the spiritual practice of love and compassion, and peace and goodwill. Firstly you have to spiritually love God with all your mind, body and soul. Secondly you have to spiritually show compassion to your neighbours. You can only do spiritual things or practice when you are reborn in your spiritual consciousness. The Scriptures abound with examples of God, the Prophets and Jesus favouring or showing compassion to Samaritans and non-Jews. God is not just a Christian God but a Universal God! Why? No matter what your creed or religion and whether you recognise your Heavenly Father or deny Him, the Heavenly Father will always accept and await His Prodigal Children. God will not disown His children. Do not be like the brother of the Prodigal Son who was upset that the Father threw a celebratory feast for the returned Prodigal Son. In the Spirit Consciousness we are all one. So knowing and returning home to God is fundamentally a spiritual practice. It is about a Spirit Father and His spirit sons of God. Having said that, since most of us are not yet reborn in the spirit, and as mere human beings and equipped only with our worldly mind, our religious practice of Christianity by necessity starts off as a worldly practice, since we are using your worldly self-ego consciousness and understanding to practice these Twin Commandments. But in the end it all comes down to losing or surrendering your worldly consciousness to your spirit consciousness, for only in that sense do you surrender to God and His Grace completely until spiritually your left hand does not know what the right hand is doing; and you are one and all in the Holy Trinity with God and with the rest of humanity. Remember, it is only in the spirit that God is with you, for God is Spirit. God is invisible to your worldly senses; so forgo your worldly senses, all six senses to perceive and receive God in the Spirit Consciousness. You have to lose your worldly false self-ego mind and life and existence, metaphorically or figuratively or spiritually speaking to awake to your eternal spiritual being and life. This does not mean you have to be a monk or nun or to run away from people or civilisation or to commit hara-kiri when you are a worldly mess or failure like me. It just means that you have to be selfless instead of being selfish; to live, work, 3

love and die without being proud and haughty; to keep busy and hardworking, for an idle mind is easily tempted by Satan with pleasures of the flesh and other sensual pleasures. The richer, more beautiful and cleverer you are, the more humble and pious you have to be; because you have to eliminate a bigger self-ego. The six senses are responsible for influencing what seeds you sow and therefore what you would reap in this worldly life or the next as you go up and down Jacobs Ladder. Sow no worldly seeds that will keep you in a worldly state in future lives or existence. To be a spirit, you have to ensure that you will not stay imprisoned in worldly human form existence in the web of deceit of the Son of Adam after the Fall of Adam consequent to the Original Sin. The bigger the self-ego the larger the idol you make of yourself. When God say that we shall have no idol before Him, He was not talking about inert brazen inanimate statues or stones or anything of this world. He was referring to the Fall from Grace of Adam idolising himself. Why should God fear anything of this world? Why should God fear man? So, it is nothing to do with the world or fear. A Spirit deals with the matters of the spirit. Unless the son of Adam stops idolising himself, the spirit son of God that is the real Adam remains lost within that false worldly self-ego! God the Spirit is only concerned about His lost spirit son of God. God just want His children to return home to Him. The separation from God the Spirit Father is the only relevant sin of Adam and the sons of Adam. We as sons of Adam remain lost if we get bogged down with worldly sins of the flesh and senses which relate to the Parable of the Sower and the perpetual traversing up and down Jacobs Ladder in uncountable worldly existence and never reaching Heavens Door. For our spiritual salvation as distinct from our worldly salvation, we should focus solely on the spiritual sin of separation from God. God is not concerned with nor can help us with our worldly miseries. In that sense God help those who help themselves and help others. We can only help ourselves and others in the same boat as us, stranded as humans, if we understand the reality of this worldly existence and why we are reaping what we have sown in the past. We will remain separated in the spirit from God the Spirit if we cling to our worldly self and existence in life or in death. We have to be reborn in our spirit consciousness i.e. baptised in the spirit or remain stranded like Nicodemus. So, while we are still alive in this world, we have to sow worldly seeds that have the result that there is nothing more to reap in this human world of existence. We have to get out of this place called the worldly existence of the sons of Adam. We have to repent and seek redemption of all our past worldly sins of this and past worldly existence. We do not want our false self-ego spirit of Adam to come back again and again, life after life, to dwell in the state of man with the seven even more wicked spirit companions of worldly consciousness, mind and the remaining five senses [See Matthew 12:43-45]. It all comes down to us in the spirit demonstrating filial piety to our Spirit Father. When we are commanded to love our Spirit Father with all our mind body and soul, that commandment is just a simple instruction to our spirit on practising and maintaining filial piety. We should worldly live and die in servitude, obeisance, love, reverence, debt, obligation, and honour of our parents. We lay our worldly life for them. We surrender ourselves in our worldly life to their well-being. When we are commanded to love our neighbours as we love ourselves, that commandment is just a simple instruction to our spirit that we love our sibling spirits as we love ourselves. Our neighbours in worldly human form may be our enemies or people we hate, but in the spirit we are all sons of God. The different son of man human 4

forms or states or nature i.e. nationality, skin colour, personality, rich or poor, clever or stupid, sick or healthy are just worldly phenomenon based on reaping what we have worldly sown in past lives or existence. In the spirit we are all equal sons of God. Even when we are reborn in the spirit but are yet still alive and trapped in the human body and subject to the demands and temptations and requirements of worldly life and existence, how can we lay or submit our life to God the Spirit Father in filial piety? We are hardly in total control of the son of man in us, let alone trying to be reborn to the spirit son of God in us. It is a hopeless task and an impossible task and demand. There are not that many Mother Teresa in the world. How do we rise up in the spirit like in the Parable of the Leaven Bread? I do not have a clear answer. This is because I have come to the realisation that most will never be close to being baptised in the spirit because of what karmic residue they have brought over from past worldly existences or indeed other existences unimaginable in other penitentiaries, simply broadly described as purgatory. I came close to the stage at one point in my life of committing suicide, thinking that this would be the easy option. No! It is not! We will reap what we sow. That is the curse of the false ego son of Adam in us. Until we have expiated all worldly karmic consequences, reaping the karmic consequences of what seeds we have sown, in this life and existence or future lives and existence, we will remain trapped, as angels going up and down Jacobs Ladder. It is a very strange process indeed. When I was suicidal I was thinking off jumping off the cliff, and weighing out other options as to what was quicker and less painful. In desperation and despair I sought God to make my life better, to give me a break. I could not find Him. He was silent to my pleas and prayers. Suddenly at the very last second when you have virtually and quite literally thrown your life away and you are just a split second before the jump, you realised that your spirit is still alive. In fact it never moved or changed or metamorphosed. It is saying that the human body is not you nor is its worldly existence. It is like a role you play in a virtual reality theatre. What in appearance is worldly real is in spirit terms unreal. It is just like a dream i.e. the spirit is dreaming or living in a dream. It is all still very real as things are when we are in the dream itself. We perspire even though we are running in pursuit inside our dream. We taste the good wine even though we are drinking it within our dream. The real you can never die, for in the spirit you were never born and therefore in the spirit you can never die! The true image of God in you, the son of God in you was created eternal. It is permanent and can never change. It is just pure perfection. You do not have to eat or sleep or shit. There is no worldly existence in Heaven. Thus there is no marriage in Heaven. Spirit Heaven is formless. There is no wish or desire or need, i.e. there is nothing to want; for it just eternal repose. It is then you realise e that in eternal Spirit Consciousness, we have never left home. God and Jesus have always been with us; and that is why God and Jesus will always be with us till the end of worldly time. We are in the Holy Trinity in eternity. We have been together before Abraham. Adam the son of God never moved. Only Adam the son of Man, with his false worldly self-ego moved or was lost as the Prodigal Son, in his web of deceit world of the Parable of the Sower. In tasting the apple of Tree of Knowledge Adam had to reap what he had sown.

We can only strive to be reborn to our spirit consciousness. We have to gradually throw out and dispense with our worldly son of man mantle; i.e. keeping the human body and form but in the spirit losing the worldly self-ego. It would be a hard task to say that in the human body we can lay our life for the Spirit Father, in that everything we say or do, we will do it the way God would want us to. It is a hard mission. How do you live like a spirit son of God when one is still a human son of Adam? The practical alternative, once we understand the reality of worldly existence and the mechanics of the Parable of the Sower, the Parable of the Prodigal Son and the Parable of the unclean spirit and its seven deadlier spirit companions and Jacobs Ladder, is to lay down our life in filial piety, i.e. live our life not for ourselves but, in servitude, to our parents, then to our wife and children, our siblings, our friends and relatives, and most of all to the sick, poor and needy in the world . Slowly but surely, we will then lose our consciousness of self; we will lose our false worldly self-ego. We become selfless. We exist and live and yet we do not really exist and live in this world. We are lost to our spirit consciousness. When we are lost to our spirit consciousness, when we are lost to the world, in a spiritual sense rather than a worldly physical sense, we are then truly reborn in the spirit and ready for the spiritual journey home of the lost Prodigal Son. To summarise my cheong hei [long-winded] discourse (1) baptism by water means you have to cleanse yourself of bad karma, by accepting that you have to expiate or reap what you sow resulting from the Law of Causality from the Parable of the Sower; and do not create further bad or worldly karma. (2) Baptism of the spirit means that you have to be reborn in the spirit, to regain your true self, your original face and being, who you were before you ended in a human fertilised egg to embark on worldly existence, i.e. your eternal spirit consciousness as the son of God before the Original Sin and Fall of Adam. (3) Salvation is of the spirit because the Heavenly Father is Spirit. Note that when Catholics greet each other or the priest these days in the new ecumenical style we say God be with you and reply And with your spirit. To finish let me quote from the Peace Prayer of St Francis of Assisi, whose spiritual writings enlightened me as to the need to lose your human alter ego: Make me a channel of your peace. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, in giving to all men that we receive, and in dying that we are born to eternal life. Now you will understand what St Paul said in Corinthians 15:45-49 The first man Adam, as scripture says, became a living soul [worldly being]; but the last Adam [Christ] has become a life-giving spirit. That is, first the one with the soul [worldly being], not the spirit, and after that, the one with the spirit. The first man, being from the earth, is earthly be nature; the second man is from heaven. As this earthly man was, so are we on earth; and as the heavenly man is, so are we in heaven. And we, who have been modelled on the earthly man, will be modelled on the heavenly man. Chuan 7/3/13
