INTRODUCTION
In virtually every coaching book Ive read and at every basketball coaching clinic that Ive attended, its strongly recommended that youthcoachesplanouteachpractice.Iagree.Itstimeconsuming, butyourplayerswillbebetterforitandsowillyou. Atthestartoftheseason,theressomuchforayoungteamtolearn. Whatordershouldabasketballcoachstructureallofthedifferent concepts to teach? The first game may be looming in just a few shortweeksandperhapsmostofyourplayershaventpickedupa basketballinmonths. Its helpful to have someone who has coached many teams before outline a process that has been courttested and has had some success. This guide is intended to make your coaching job a lot easier. If youre new to coaching, you can use this guide as your roadmap.Ifyouvecoachedbefore,thisguidewillremovealotof the work associated with mapping out each practice. You can supplement the practice plans with your own concepts that have workedforyouinthepast.
