yaa ayyuhalladziina aamanuu ittaqullaaha haqqa tuqaatihi wa laa tamuutunna ilaa wa antum muslimuun Dear brother rahimakumullah,

Two week ago, I talked about Maulud Nabi Muhammad SAW and the most important to us is we should try to adapt Sunnah in our daily life and mainly in the worshiping or ibadah to Allah SWT we should follow Rasullullah SAW did. Today, I want to talk about who is the most intelligent person in the world? Is he Einstein, Thomas Alfa Edison, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or people who gained Noble prize? Yes, they are all intelligent according to our sight. But, according to our Uswah, Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): The most intelligent person is the one who remembers death often. As mention in one Hadist: Ibn-u Omar Radyallahu Anhuma tells : I was together with the Rasul of Allah Aleyhissalatu Vesselam. One of the companions came and greeted him and asked Ya Rasulullah! Which of the believers is the most virtuous? The answer was The one who has the best behaviour Then the man asked Which of the believers is the most intelligent? The answer was Those who remember death most and the one who makes the best preperation for the life after death. These people are the most intelligent ones.

The belief in the Hereafter is an essential component of our Iman as Muslims. Allah provides us the complete picture of our existence in Quran, Sura Al-Baqarah: 28):

Which means: How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned. The verses make it clear that this life constitutes the first part of our journey following which we will die and then will be resurrected (in the hereafter), and depending on our performance in this life we will get due rewards or punishment. We will be in Jannah or in jahiim.. If we become good Muslims now, we will be good people while we are alive. But even more important, it is our longer life, the eternal life that we work for by being good Muslims. In a way, our life now is like an examination. We have to use our minds, our efforts and everything in us to be good Muslims. If we do, then we pass the exam and we will have the Real Success, success that has true meaning. If not, we will have failed ourselves. Everyones will die and It may be occurred suddently. As Sayyidinna Omar tells what he feels by saying the following Death could be tomorrow, maybe it is more closer than tomorrow This week, my professor in Indonesia was death during the meeting. Last month, my best friends, His name Arief, He passed away while he took breakfast with his family. Thus who can guarantee that we still can life until tomorrow or next year..? Qaalahhu Taala fil Quran-il Karim (Ali Imran:185):

Which means: Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.

(closing 1st khatbah by doa):

Innal hamdalillahi robbalaalamiin wa asyhadu an laa ilaaha illahllaahu wa asyhadu anna muhammadan khaatamul anbiyaai wal mursaliina allahumma shalli alaa muhammadan wa alaa aali muhammadin kamaa shollayta alaa ibroohiima wa alaa alii ibroohiim, innaka hamiidum majiid.Wa barok alaa muhammadin wa alaa aali muhammadin kamaa baarokta alaa ibroohiima wa alaa alii ibroohiim, innaka hamiidum majiid. Ammaa baad..

My dear brothers, This life is one big exam. Are you busy answering the questions of what to believe and what to do or are you busy entertaining yourself? The time for enjoyment is later. Those who prepare and do well in the exam of life will be considered the intelligent ones for eternity. The people in Hell will say about themselves as mentioned in [Al-Mulk:10],

Which means: And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." We are so engrossed in our various pursuits that the reality of death does not occur to us. So, constant remembrance of death would keep us from getting easily distracted by the glittery entertainment beckoning from all directions, preventing us from seriously attempting the exam of life. Keeping death in mind would help us abstain from sin and motivate us to do good deeds without delay. The most intelligent person is the one who gives the exam of life his/her full attention, since there are no re-takes. So, lets increase our level of Taqwa, our belief and always do the good deeds and do repentance of our sins. Qalallahu taala fil kitaabil kariim:

Which means: And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.
