Curbing abusing elderly people. I refer to Elderly man abused at home...

(The Star, June 7) and would like to share my view with the readers. I was totally saddened and disturbed by this news. 89-year- old man abusing by a woman in her 20s. Wow...what is going on in our community? Early morning while I having breakfast with my colleagues in a restaurant and after red this news one of my friend told us that the more we living in modern world we become more loosing our human values. Is that true? Are we very slowly forgetting our humanity, kindness, respect the older, and sympathy towards others? I dont think in 60s and before that our country got a large number of old folk houses like present days. What is this mean? The currently new unhealthy social phenomena very clearly show that we are living in new social dilemma. The bad attitude such neglecting and disregarding the elderly old people by their own family members happening very frequently in this country. For the public knowledge one or two incidents is highlighted. But, I think this kind incidents happening almost every day through over the country. The fact that astonishing me is how can the youngsters nowadays simply dont understand the law of the nature were everyone become old in future. No one in this world got immortality as special privilege from the God. So, when time comes we too will go through the old folk life. Secondly, life if karma. The concept of karma very simply could understand by everybody. Well, according the karma the good things we do in our current life we will reply by good balance of life by the nature, the nature it self is a God. Life is like ball in our hand and when we throw the ball towards the wall, after hit the wall the ball will bounce back to us. Its reflecting that the good things we do we will get back the good reply. So, my advice to the younger generation is dont be too cruel, indelicate, ill mannered and harsh with our old parents, grand parents or to any of the old folks. Life is circle and the time will come all of us to pay back. Letting or causing our own old people suffering in such cruel manner is simply showing our bad attitude and like we spit our self. The occurrence we cannot tolerate anymore is abusing happened very openly and witnessed by a 10 year old boy. It means this incidents possibly can create psychological disturbance to that boy as well how the young lady either not realise or not bother the neighbours about what she doing to the old man. This is another lesson should take to our consideration we as present parents to our kids. One more time I urge the young parents to teach our younger generation the important of humanity, how and why we should respect the elder people, the proper way we should show our kindness to others and also sympathy towards the elder people. If we can show them the good example they will follow us with that way. If we failed to guide and nurture them all kind of human values, the time will come to us to pay back. Pointing our finger to others to find the reason throwing the criticism to the young women causing this bad incident is not an issue now. As parents how we going to change our generation start from now is fundamental thing we should think about.
