Compliance Responsibilities
Compliance with NCAA and America East Conference rules is of utmost importance to The University at Albany and its athletics department. As a member of the NCAA, The University at Albany is responsible for the actions of its coaches, studentathletes, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, boosters and friends.
UAlbanys Mission
The mission of the UAlbany Athletics Compliance Office is to function within the realm of the University's compliance structure, coordinating, monitoring and verifying compliance with all NCAA and Conference requirements, and to educate athletics department staff members, student-athletes, the various constituencies of the University and the community regarding NCAA regulations. The Athletics Compliance Office is committed and compelled to the principle of institutional control in the operation of the athletics department in a way that is constant within the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the America East Conference and the University.

The Athletics Compliance Office shall be dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of excellence and professionalism by working together with all athletics staff members, student-athletes, university personnel, alumni, boosters, and the external community in an environment that promotes respect, communication and teamwork; by encouraging professional growth in the area of rules compliance; by incorporating in others the highest regard for ethical conduct; by fostering an environment that is supportive of the NCAA operating principle of competitive equity; by seeking out diversity and gender equity; and by fostering individual empowerment and personal wellbeing of our student-athletes.
Juniors
Register to tale the ACT, SAT or both - Use NCAA Eligibility Center Code 9999 as a score recipient, it will send the official score directly to the eligibility center Continue to take NCAA college preparatory courses
After completing your Junior year ask your guidance counselor to send an official transcript to the NCAA Eligibility center
BEFORE registering for classes for your Senior year check with our counselor to determine the number of core courses that you need to complete your senior year
Seniors
Take the ACT and/or SAT again, if necessary Continue to take college preparatory courses and make sure they match your schools list of NCAA Courses Review your amateurism responses and request final amateurism certification on or after April 1 (fall enrollees) or October 1 (Spring enrollees) Graduate on time (8 academic semesters) After graduation ask your high school counselor to send your final transcript to the NCAA Eligibility center with proof of graduation

Earn a combined SAT OR ACT sum score that matches your core-course grade-point average and test score sliding scale -Example a 2.4 core-course grade-point average needs and 860 SAT score
Core Courses
Division I 4 years of English 3 years of Math (Algebra 1 or higher) Time Limitations You must complete the 16 core course requirements within four consecutive academic years from the start of ninth grade
2 years of Natural or Physical Science (Including one year of lab science if offered by your high school)
1 extra year of English, Math or Natural or Physical Science 2 years of Social Science 4 years of extra core courses (from any category above or foreign language, comparative religion or philosophy)
